Next week, at CES 2015, LG will introduce what it calls the world’s first ultra-wide (21:9) gaming monitor with AMD’s FreeSync technology — AMD’s alternative to Nvidia’s proprietary and expensive G-Sync. I say “world’s first,” but considering LG hasn’t yet released the monitor, nor given us an expected release date or price, that seems a little bit rich.

To be honest it's come at a nice time for me as I have recently decided to buy and sell on the stock market :D

Thanks, I have just put a demand in for four of those with Flubit. I'm hoping for at least 10% off. :)

Why is the HUD on that game so closed in on such a beautiful wide spread monitor? oO

I think it would be great for web browsing and office work as there would be room to have several browser windows side by side and it would mean a whole lot less scrolling with huge excel sheets. I think it would be a great screen for photo and video editing, I'm seriously tempted to upgrade my current 27in 1440p monitor but finding space for the desktop PC itself (which would need to move and it's a large unit) is an issue.

But you would have to scroll a lot on websites and when writing documents, compared to your typical aspect ratios. It's just too wide for me, personally.

Whats funny about that youtube video is that the monitor quality looks better than the screen i am watching it through, and i am watching it on a quality 1080p l502x screen,

I feel a little mind fecked! and with that its on my want list.

No you wouldn't - it's the same height as a 16:9 monitor so you'd have to scroll exactly the same as a normal monitor but you'd have more width. With a 29in 21:9 monitor 1080 high, you'd lose vertical resolution over a 27in 1440p monitor but with this one you keep the same 1440 height.

34in 16:9 monitors are very unusual, I've never seen a mainstream one nor one at all with a comparative pixel density so most people looking to upgrade to the LG 34in monitor are likely coming from a 27in 1440p or similar which unlike other 29in 21:9 monitors which only have 1080 height means you don't lose any height, only gain width

That still doesn't explain my above link, as that comparison is likely to be based on similar aspect ratios.
