How fast can I lose my weight? + Need advice/help and motivation please!

DEALofaLifetimeDEALofaLifetime

Hi my hukd buds! I need some advice on losing weight. How long do you guys think it will take me to reach my target weight.

I'm currenlty weighing 13.5 stone and I want to get down to 10.5 st.
Extra info: 6 years ago I managed to get down to 10st from 12.5st in I would say around 5-6 months doing a mixture of dieting and cardio, but currently I'm finding it really hard to shift the excess weight and to stay motivated! I've lost my eye of the tiger so to speak :( it's really getting me down.

Please help! I would really appreciate your input.

2lbs a week should be fairly easy. I'm just losing the baby weight at the mo.

None if your diet is spot on and you eat at a calorie deficit. If you eat 500 calories less a day then in 1 week you can lose a pound (1 pound = 3500 calories)

At present you eat too much its as simple as that.

Start reducing your in take starting with any crap foods you eat, chocs, crisps, fizzy drinks etc.

Put a little cardio into the mix to help you create a large defect and also to aid fitness.

If you want to do this in a proper way the best results you will obtain loosing not more than 2 lbs per week(I suggest 1lb).It will help you avoid yoyo dieting.First easy step to cut carbs is stop drinking coke etc.You cant count your cardio in minutes to measure weight lose. 1lb is about 4000kcal so it is equivalent of 8hours of moderated cardio but remember that reasonable diet is so important as training or even more

    As numptyj said;)

You could try doing the atkins diet for 3 weeks and lose a stone or more (but I wouldn't recommend doing it for longer than that) and then carry on with a more healthy calorie controlled diet and cardio.

Reduce fat and carbs, increase exercise, but take small steps and make them stick. Set yourself a goal, like a 10k or half marathon.

Stop eating so much carp and exercising more.

    That is all

instead or doing long drawn out cardio, try HIT or Circuit Training instead.

I lost my weight mainly by changing what I eat (and what NOT to eat)

    Try "diet" I've tried:
    - breakfast - a must - this will give you energy to start the day - I tried musli with milk.
    - lunch - normal food - sandwich, fruits, salads, pasta.. whatever you want.
    - dinner - no later than 7pm. Anything healthy.
    - instead of going by bus/car - walk

    Now important bit:
    - NO fizzy drinks,
    - limit beer/cider
    - no sweets, crisps, snacks
    - no mcdonald, subway, other fast food
    - again - no food after 7pm
    - don't think you have to stop eating.. not enough food is bad, just don't eat rubbish stuff

Don't need motivation for that.. just strong will! (I was fighting with myself not to eat peanut M&Ms ;))

    Good luck

As most have said... snacks and takeaways are your nightmare

But don't try to do all in one go - if you know you eat too much you need to gradually reduce how much you eat.

If you know the amount of food intake is not excessive then it's a case of your eating the wrong foods.

Any exercise is better than none and will help but again excessive exercise at the start will encourage hunger.

Everything in moderation, a gradual decrease in calories and gradual increase in exercise will be more effective both short term and long term IMHO

Trust me fella if you dont make a change it will keep adding on. I am now 16st and it is all down to snacks and takeaways as i drink about 3-4 units of alcohol a week. I have a lot of work ahead just to get to your weight. so let that be a lesson to you :) i am 5ft 10.
