How fit are you and what exercise do you do!?

Are you a fitness freak or a couch potato?

I had a baby in February and due to problems in the pregnancy and afterwards i have not been able to exercise until now. I have always been a gym person myself, always something there for every part of the body but i need a change.
I am not fitness freak, don't have the time with the little ones as the years go on i tend to go less and less, i went twice a week before having my last baby, better that than nothing at all though!
Anyway my reason for writing this is that i am going to aerobics tonight, have not done this in years! I am not looking forward to it, i am going with my friend, she is super fit and is out running as we speak! I don't do running, anything but, my boobs are way too big and it makes me feel uncomfortable, i think that all the men watch them! LOL!
Times change and there is loads of new ways to keep fit so what do you do to keep fit?

Thanks xxx

i used to go to the gym all the time, then i had melissa and dont really find the time, i also used to play footy with the lads at the pub i worked at, shame i love sports and miss playing at college i was a sports freak and was on every team they had going, even tho i got banned from playing basketball lol

I'm not fit anymore but I occasionally cycle with my mum or to work and go for runs with my boyfriend, plus i occasionally use various things like steppers.
I used to do boxing which was in my peak, yet exercising made me ill! :x if you're after doing something I always recommend skipping! :)

I had that same problem... but I was in a gym... full of men! being the only girl! So it was pretty embarrassing. I found a nice sports bra though, hate some of them! :)

I was like that too! I argued the rules of netball / hockey with my teacher, which I was right of course. So I had to help out with the year 7 after school classes. I got a detention for arguing my point!

No matter how much 'working out' you do won't deter the fact you have a face like a badgers rectum.

i quite fancy kick boxing but need to wean myself back into it and get fit first! Skipping is good as i could do that outside with the boys :)

I play tennis a bit but have 3 kids to look after and there isnt a lot of time to do much more.
We also walk as 2 miles down the road there is a nice pub:-D

Will skipping help get rid of a "baby" belly??
#11
You should try kick boxing Aimee its alot of fun and a fantastic workout. I try to do it twice a week and I also go running at 3/4 times a week.

Plus looking after two young children keeps me fit.

Oh you could do hoops too! that should help with getting toned after having a baby plus your boys might enjoy it! :-D

If you find running too wobbly, cycling is the next best thing in my opinion - less impact, and if you get a kiddy trailer you get even more of a workout, and the kids love it.

Fair enough, I suppose being the before model in a fungal infection advertisement is a form of modelling.

The outdoors for running is free, and better than a treadmill, bodyweight exercises like pressups and pullups are free, and you def have the time

Lamest excuse ever. You don't have to pay a London congestion charge to go running you know.

Got to agree. I go running most mornings before work, and doesn't cost me a penny.

Bought a new bike but i have yet to find a baby seat that will hold my baby as he is only 5 months, plus i am a bit worried it might be a bit bumpy for him :? Any advice on that one would be great! My other ones are 4 and 10 so no problems there, they love bike rides. Those kiddie trailers are so cute :)

I chase my 13 yr olds round the house and up the stairs on a daily basis  does that count as exercise? :)

Definitely! Just wish it would work for me! Think i have a slow metabolism, loads of my friends are tiny and eat way more than me and do no exercise ... i feel cheated :p Hope it catches up on them one day :whistling:

Dont listen to them, i know its hard to find the motivation. I feel exactly the same sometimes, i have three boys to look after and its tiring. I know it sounds silly but you get more energy after a work out, it gives you a buzz and if anything will help you through uni as it kick stars the brain

I have the Nike Plus iPod gadget and it is amazing. If anyone wants to get fit they shuold get this. If anyone does have it, let me know as we can do challenges against eachother!

I've never been a big fan of gyms, prefer to get out in the open. Normally my choice is walking which sounds like nothing but I find regular, long walks do have a positive effect on my health especially when I'm normally carrying my camera equipment which is about 6-7kg.

If I wanted to get as fit as possible I'd take up rowing again , as I work shifts I can't really do it at the moment.

Wish I was more fit  My excercise comprises of my daily routine of hoovering, mopping the downstairs and upstairs floors, cleaning the kitchen, cleaning the living room about 5 times a day after my youngest, cleaning the kiddies bedrooms (the bathroom and toilets are once a week so not really daily) and the usual shopping, chasing children around etc etc.

But it's obviously not enough given that I'm not my pre-child size 10. Bah :p
