That's a very powerful processor for a laptop. The graphics card is fairly good too, so it should make an okay gaming machine as long as you don't run games at the screen's native resolution,

yeah there not many for this laptop though, ones in German and the other one is just a 360 video of the laptop.

It depends on how much you are willing to spend of course..personally if I was after a gaming laptop I would be inclined to go for an Alienware laptop..how much is the Toshiba laptop?

These days 1440x900 is pretty close to the minimum resolution you'd want to run games at, not many work at 800x480.

The machine looks fairly fast for a laptop, a desktop is better if you want a high-performance computer but if that's no an option this should do if you're not too picky.

If you're going to take it outside you might want to check whether the screen has a glossy or matt finish and glossy can reflect a lot in the sunlight. I guess it's not going to be moved much generally so the probably poor battery life won't matter.

It's got a nice selection of ports with eSATA, firewire and expresscard/54. I don't see any sort of surround sound or digital sound output listed though so if you may want to connect it up to something like a TV or an amp it's a good idea to check whether the HDMI port can carry sound.

EDIT: It should be easy enough to pick up and move but you don't want to be carrying it around for more than ten minutes.

Mine's is on order and is due shortly so will let you know what I think of it.

Initial impressions are very good.

You can play all current games at almost max settings (sans crysis). The GFX card is rated as the 10th best currently available on a laptop. CPU is top notch and the ram is as fast as it gets on a laptop. HDD is at 7200rpm which is very fast by laptop standards. Sound is most likely the best you can get on a laptop from a mainstream manufacturer on any laptop currently available. Keyboard is great as is the trackpad. Weighs in at around 4kg. More of a desktop replacment but can be used at any location if you have the right carrying gear for it. Appearance wise, it looks stunning but that depends on personal taste too.

Last important point- you can upgrade the CPU, GPU and a few other items which many other laptops don't allow. That in itself is a USP.

A solid investment for £1200.
