Tying me up and forcing me to wear a wedding dress whilst you recite the Bible does not constitute a marriage.

No, I don't think so maybe you have chosen more mature, less needy men! 3 to 6 months would of had me running for the hills!

Yes i said no to both lol but now im just wondering why i havent been asked by the one person i actually love :x

It depends on alot of thing the new fella, might not be ready or he might think your not ready, I think you should speak to him about and see how he feels. Also age has to be brought in to it aswell.

Been with my girlfriend for over three years now, but do plan to marry eventually. At 21 (both of us), she's not ready and although I would love to propose, it isn't feasible for either of us. Long story short, it's too soon (age wise and situation).

Saying that, I'd love to tie the knot, although I want to live with her first to see how we'd cope - No point getting married if it ends in divorce a year later... Or less...

2 years min for me

got engaged at 20 after 3 months but it was to shut her up tbh, never meant it and the ring was like £20 from Argos...wouldn't do it again but the sex was good...she was a bit mental though

have been engaged twice..first time he proposed after 2 days ..I think....I was only 15 so cant remember...second time he proposed after 5 days....
personally I would think you should wait a year or two...

I was married twice once when I was 7 and again when I was 11 bout messy divorces. I lost my bike and action men in the divorces

You were right not to marry young :)

When you're absolutely, utterly, totally and without question sure you want to spend the rest of your life with your partner, ask them to marry you. Anytime before that is too soon.
#16
10 days, but then took 18 year to get to the aisle

Just speak to him about it. That your best option, then you will know how he feels and where you stand.

I've been with the mrs for 6 years, (both now 23). Not engaged yet.

Unlikely...wouldn't you want him to ask you of his own free will though rather than feel he HAS to do it for you?
#22
Ive been with my GF 3 1/2 years and i don't plan on asking her anytime soon.

I dont think you can know after 12 months that you wanna spend the rest of your life with someone.

don't place so much value on getting hitched. You're together, you're happy... why do you need a bit of paper, a ring and a big party to prove it?

Living with sum1 for a while can put ya right off em..lol

I've been with my OH for 5 years and im 20 and would never pressure him in to anything as im still young and its best for him to decide it the right time than me forcing it, then you truly know he wants to be with me.

To me marriage is like DIY jobs around the house - never really get around to it......but I
suppose I don't want Gordon Brown nicking all me money if I drop dead so it's a good tax angle!!

I waited until she had her divorce through. :whistling:

Everyones missing the point-i would never let onto him that i wanted to marry him, nor pressure him into it. Just wondering how long people usually wait before asking someone, when you really love them

Well I think you have answered your own question there. If your not close enough to talk about it then your not ready.
