Tell us which banks are involved, If it is the same bank being used by both parties, it may be faster.

well i am the person who paid for the laptop and i sent money via online bank transfer.. from my yorkshire bank account... Now as you can see from my feedback i do NOT scam. I have paid for high priced items before and had no problems with the sellers. I paid it on saturday at around 8.15pm

EDIT: I have no problem in waiting for the money to clear before the item is sent to me, the only reason why i keep asking strobez1977 is because i need the laptop as soon as possible.

perhaps contact your bank just in case they transferred someone else the money, it has happened to me before :?
#29
I have sent it to the correct person. I have checked the sort code and account number and name a few times before i sent the amount. I will ring the bank now and see if i can get through to someone who can help.

im afraid whatever that link is it is incorrect because i regulary send bank transfer to and from my gf's account and i use the yorkshire bank and it is transferred instantly

also transferred to my bro's halifax account as well instantly
#37
erm.. its from the yorkshire bank website itself.. so how can they be wrong? i am sure the webpage would have been corrected a long time ago if there was any more changes.

still a non believer.... here you go
Faster Payments Sort Code Checker

Faster Payments is a new service which enables banks to process phone, internet and standing order within a few hours.

If your bank or building society has confirmed that it is offering you the Faster Payments Service and you want to make a payment this way, you can check whether the account you are sending money to is able to receive a Faster Payment by checking the sort code here:

Faster Payments can be sent to this sort code.
Clear Number

Even if the sort code of the account you are checking is able to receive Faster Payments, you should remember these other top tips before making your payment:

* check that you are able to send a Faster Payment from you account;
* check that the payment you are making is within the value limit set by your bank;
* if you want to pay a bill, you should check the timescales on the back of the bill to ensure your payment is made on time; and
* always double check the account number and sort code, as once you have made a Faster Payment it can’t be cancelled.

Remember, if it is not possible to use the new service, you can still make your payment online or over the phone using the existing three-day Bacs service.

Faster Payments is the first new payments service to be introduced in the UK for more than 20 years. To ensure that the service is launched smoothly, securely and with total reliability for customers, banks and building societies are gradually offering the service to their customers.

Below is a list of the banks that are currently sending and receiving Faster Payments. Not all accounts across each bank or building society are currently able to receive Faster Payments. By using the sort code checker you can be sure that the account you are sending to, can receive a Faster Payment.

* Abbey
* Alliance & Leicester
* Barclays Bank
* Citi
* Clydesdale & Yorkshire Banks,
* HBOS
* HSBC
* LloydsTSB

* Royal Bank of Scotland Group (incorporating NatWest and Ulster Bank)
