You can eat bacon raw, so cook to how you want it to look like.

edit: oh sounds like the supermarket left it out for 3hrs then put it back in the fridge like they used to do at the place I worked.

Argh righty, so its not actually raw its salted and smoked etc for like a month before i get it.

I can only eat bacon when its grilled so much that it shatters when you eat it lol.

And why doesn't bacon smell like bacon any more when its cooking? Every kind I've tried doesn't give you the nice bacon smell any more.
#9
Bacon has a high fat content - so that may be whats making your guts like that.

You won't get food poisoning that quickly anyway - can take up to 10 days in some cases.

lumoruk - it's not advisable to eat bacon raw, while it is a cured product like parma ham, it doesn't undergo the same process and is still full of water which can harbour bacteria - therefore you need to cook it properly.

Bacon and Parma Ham are entirely different.

No. You've been given the wrong info, it is cured but not in the same method as ready to eat cured meat.

Yeah same I love it soooo crispy. I normally fry it but couldnt be bothered with the mess. I think when you fry it, it smells but not when you grill it.

Well as long as it is kept refrigerated from the production line to your mouth it would be fine, but you have humans in the middle that can leave it out of the the refrigeration process, like at er Tesco or you get customers that put it in their basket walk to the other side of the supermarket and put it on the cat food shelf lol.

crispy on its own or as part of a fry up, not so crispy if its in a roll

Yeah, you're correct to an extent, but anything of animal origin is capable of harbouring bacteria. Not to mention that significant contamination can and does occur on the production line, never mind the abattoirs. You wouldn't go eating chicken raw would you?

You likened bacon to Parma Ham and said you can eat it in the same way - which is totally wrong.

No offence but you really should edit your post, as someone might be daft enough to believe it.

thanks for sharing!

Nah, seriously, some fridges, like my Bosch one, have certain zones that are cooler than other areas. In the Bosch it's on the bottom left-hand side.

You can freeze skimmed and semi skimmed, but not full fat I think that's correct?
#22
It's semi skimmed so i hope it will be ok,i couldn't have any cereal today!

Glad it's not just my fridge freezing things lol

Although the items were in two different places that froze, must be the norm it seems!

Try beer with your cereal, it tastes REALLY bad.

I know I was just messin with ya.

Milk will probably be ok, although it's use by date will now be compromised and therefore will need chucking out sooner.

Not very technical, but I generally rely on the 'if it smells off, it is' method with milk.

Ok,thanks for your help moob.

bacon ftw!

I usually only cook it for a few minutes, I don't like it all crispy.
