glasses marks on ur nose means ur glasses dont fit correctly-bring them back, they can be adjusted very easily-takes 2 or 3 mins!

Oh, just wear them Sassie. You'll get used to it. I like a lady in glasses. Miaoww.

Failing that you can buy contact lenses that you can wear for 30 days/nights without taking them out

I have glasses,I'm meant to wear them all time, had them a year now, never got used to them.I wore them and wore them, they only any good for me seeing long distance. If I wear them at comp I can't see the comp screen proper, and everything seems not right, not as clear if close by like reading newspaper etc.
They only any good for long distance,if walking down road, you could see things afar more clearly.I only wear them in house to play computer games cos my tv and sofa either end of the living room,or I can't quite see aswell, and I use them to watch tv. I went back to opticians, they apprantly correct, after explaining all this.

My daughter been wearing glasses for a year now also, she attends eye clinic at hospital, not the routine opticians, they made no difference and now last time I took her there, they talking of changing her prescription next time we go there,so then they want to start messing about with eye drops, she be rather annoyed. They hoping they correct her eyes,as they overworking and she needs the glasses for her eyes to let them do the work, don't quite understand it all,for all I know she might not be able to see clearly in them.
#26
If they were giving you headaches then the prescription wasnt right. I had some glasses when I was younger and didnt wear them because they gave me headaches. Went to a different opticians a few years later (after not wearing the glasses) and got a new prescription because my eyes had obviously deteriorated, this time I didnt have headaches with them at all. Been the same ever since when I get new glasses

Plus, you shouldnt get marks on your nose, that just means that they dont fit properly.

thank you all for your advice, the opticians said it is common for headaches withing the first few weeks, and the sea sickness feeling is to do with a stigma, balh, blah, lah, whatever that means, well sorta of understood it
#28
Sea sickness is common, especially if your prescription has changed a lot (or you havent worn glasses before). Shouldnt take too long to get used to though, but best to wear them as much as possible around the house at first to get used to them

i onlt have to wear them at home, for reading, computer, etc, wouldnt wear them out - lol

my little boy of 3 now 4 has to wear them all the time when he first got them he kept saying I can't see! so we had to keep trying he eventually adjusted to them after trying them on and off for a bit for atleast 10 days
#31
Took me a couple of weeks to adjust because I only had to wear them for driving TV etc, but my five year old son got glasses a few weeks ago and has to wear them all the time, the hospital said could take four weeks to adjust to them as his prescription very strong, but he was fine after about three hours, maybe because he has to wear them all then time.
#32
Took me ages to get used to mine, the sea sickness feeling is horrible, when i first had mine walking up or downstairs was impossible, i could see the stairs under the glasses and through them, ended up taking them off to walk up and downstairs. Even now several years later i sometimes do this.

you say you dont like the way you look in glasses, have you tried this site (even if you dont buy them there , you can try on virual ones on your own photo) to find the shape of frames that suit you. I did this then found some almost exact style ones in Asda (mine are Bench ones)

Look for Virtual try on on left hand side of page, upload a pic and play :)

Edit ...

I tried some for you and bingo! i found some that suit you

Missed this thread the first time around.
You only get glasses marks from heavy frames and then only at the start or in hot weather. I started wearing them when I was four after whooping cough had a go at my eyes but pretty much stopped when I was 14!! I wonder why?? I've been wearing them for reading since about 40, I suppose - now full time on varifocals. :w00t:
Get them on and get used to them; it's 'needs must'; need to see whatever you're up to!

Astigmatism!!
