How long would you wait for second chance offer

I sold something off ebay which ended at 4o'clock.
The person bidded at the last moment so was online.

I've sent a message along with the invoice.

How long would you wait if person doesn't reply to give the next bidder a second chance?

Thanks

buyer could be using sniper software to auto bid - so may not have been online as you thought.

I often get bidders who don't contact me for 2-3 days, after 3 days I send them a reminder as does ebay.

i wait about 4 days after auction most times

I usually give it 48 hours, I send an invoice after the auction has finished, a message after 24 hours and then cancel the day after that if I get no reply.

Not a good idea to be hasty with your second chance offer unless you have more of the same item,

Even if the buyer was online, they are not oblidged to pay immediately regardless of your urgency for payment, what would you do if they pay in 3 days time? risk a neg and a non performing seller report?

Yes,it's a pain, but you have to be patient and it's best to wait until you are able to file the non paying bidder alert and have that closed before you relist or you are leaving yourself open to potential problems

I usually give people around 4 days to get in contact

I don't sell on ebay but have bought now and again and have left it a few days before making payment. Sometimes I just forget that I've bid on something or it could be that I need to put money in the bank to cover full amount.

Isn't there a fast pay option you can use if you need payment quickly? I'm not sure if that's what it's called but I know I have bought things before were I have had to make an immediate payment.

I personally pay straight away, don't see any reason not to, if you can't afford to pay at the time then don't mess people around and don't be so poor. I'd wait about 48 hours before cancelling it.

LOL, God love you!

You can use Buy It Now with immediate payment required, but that's no good for auctions.

As someone has said, he could have been sniping. I do it a lot, set a snipe if something so I don't forget to bid. If I'm out/at work/asleep I may not pay until I next check online (sometimes the next day).

Anyway ... you are obliged to wait 4 days for payment before you can officially start anything via eBay.

I sell some on ebay, and it annoys me when people do not pay straight away.
Even more so, when on a buy it now, if they have the time and buy it then, then they can pay straight away.
If they can't in my eyes, they shouldn't be buying it.

If you pay straight away, the seller can then get the name sorted, and get it posted, Surely people want their item ASAP.

When a buyer takes 4/5days after the auction/Buy it now has ended, then the next day they message you to say WHERE IS MY ITEM?
You think to yourself, they took 4/5days to pay then whining have you posted my item yet, I need it on Sunday blah blah..

Wait about 3-4 days :)

I would leave it 3-4 days but then i'd contact the buyer and say that if payment is not received on or before the 7th day then I will be relisting/ giving second chance offer.

I don't mind at all waiting for payment as long as the buyer keeps you up to date and lets you know when they are going to pay.

If you don''t like how the thing works, don't use it. It really is as simple as that.

You could always do as I do and give your unwanted good to charity but maybe you need to be "so poor" to do that. LOL

If you really are in dire need of the money, there are alternative ways.
