You must have a long driveway :?

I took 35 or so hours, having 1 a week most of the time. Passed first time with 7 minors :)

i was thinking that, house prices haven't change in the last 10+ years, yet driving lessons have doubled :?

I feel for you, The Mrs is learning to drive too and its frustrating for her Instructure, I tried to teach her in our Car but She almost ran into a Truck and almost drove into a pub at the same time.... But shes been taking driving lessons ever since... ve been over £600 out of pocket and its stil ongoing...

10 or 12 'real' lessons and probably the same again with my Dad give or take. Passed first time too...18 years ago! Seems like yesterday etc etc!

#18
took 1 week crash course (although they dont like calling it that for some reason) and it was not easy sitting in a car for approx 6 hours a day for 5 days when you are not used to it.
#19
About 30ish passed first time.

it was sarcasm and i didn't expect anyone to have trouble getting it but i'll explain
sheena123r said prices were about £12 a hour, that was 10+ years ago, in that time house prices have probably trebled and most other things have doubled in price as well, so why wouldn't driving lessons double in price :?
#27
10 lessons, passed 2nd time
Failed first time after 5 lessons
Still passed within 2 months of being 17 =]
#28
23 lessons and passed first time
I done 1 hour every week and once I passed my theory test I upped it to a 2 hour lesson each each week until my test

passed my test about a month ago and just waiting on a delivery date for my car
I wish I continued doing lessons when I was 17 but couldn't be bothered just glad I got it out the way now as started lesson in January, passed theory in February and passed practical in April

45 Hours with abit of private practice. Passed in 4 months first time no minors :)
#32
had about 12-15 lessons all in all and past first time (all those years ago ! 23 yrs me thinks :w00t:) when was 17 but can honestly say i really started to learn to drive 'properly' after i passed my test!! :)
#33
17 lessons £10 a lesson in1990 sat my test after 10 lessons but failed due to nerves :)
#34
8 lessons, passed first time although had been riding a motorbike for a couple of years before learning to drive a car so had already acquired a bit of road sense, awareness of dangers etc.
#35
Around ten lessons and passed first time as well as out driving with parents, I think it's much better having a more gradual learning process rather than an intensive course to gain more experience. With the motorbike I had around 15 lessons and failed my test twice although that was down to mucking up the U-turn under pressure.

My sentiments exactly.

OP I had about 10 lessons, didn't like the instructor so stopped learning for about 6 months found one I liked had 1 lesson with him he told me to book my test, and had about 5-6 more until the test.
#37
omg i bet i had the most lessons here...... 117 hours worth!

passed first time though in february and bought the car ive been wanting for a couple of years! felt so good :)

This is quite an important factor too, a good instructor saves you a fortune:thumbsup:

Yeah my original instructor said it was going to take me about 9months of lessons, thus assuming I wasn't very good. But I had already driven cars :whistling: thus I knew I could physically drive, just the parking etc I knowing how to drive properly was all I needed, so I told him where to stick it. He was a BSM instructor.

The next one I had was private and although was a jesus freak was a very realistic guy, and as I said after 1 lesson he told me to book my test as he knew he could have me ready for it. He then also got me into power kiting which he also teaches! Although never had a lesson off him for that.
#39
i'm still learning, been drivingi around everyhwere with mum and dad, got theory on the 1st of june, and then booking practical straight after! then gonna have a lesson per week up til test to sort out parking etc

:)
