How many people gamble regularly?

Was reading an article which stated that with the rise of online gambling sites over the past few years the number of people gambling has steadily risen - with women espically now gambling more than ever before

Made me wonder - do many people on here gamble? if so how often?

im BAD for this and must stop. im always going into the bookies in town and going on them fixed odds machines, Mainly roulette... Yes when you win you can win big, but when you lose its a Heavy loss. i have seen people lose 700+ in a matter of an hour. its all about knowing when to stop. but the machines are so addicting, im my opinion they should be banned

I built a potato cannon a few years back........I made it way to big, I realise now that I should of worn safety equipment. I was risking my health firing the beast (the reinforced base cracked along it's side one day and that was the end of that)

I play quite a bit of poker. I have won quite a lot of money over the last few months. I have won A LOT more than I have lost. Internet poker is sooooooooo easy.

Well last week i lost £90 at casino which is £90 too much !! i normally go casino 3 times a week, £20 is my limit but sometimes get carried away and get more and more out. Always do footy accumulators each week.

You shouldn't gamble unless you can afford to lose the money.

I have had an online poker account for about 8 years, but only play when I have nothing else to do. I would say I have spent maybe £60 in total. Havent won a lot either, but I just dont play a lot.

ive quit gambling recently (3 months ago), started as a lil thing playing poker in 2004, then online casinos, the real casinos, then bookmakers. i did find myself plonking £150+ onto the footie a few years ago but my latest footie gamble was around £30, so i slowed down my play.

it has been an eventfull gambling experience, won an online poker tournament only £200, got robbed of 1200 euros by a gambling site ceasing trading, won £2500 on a footie accumulator and the odd lose a a few hundred in a month then win some.

i had steadily drained my online accounts by withdrawing cash from the 20 bookmakers i have accounts with, just withdrawn from betfair recently, only got £25 in extrabet which i havent actually played at. and it feels good to not have your heart racing when the team you back is only 1-0 up, or when hamilton does his 'racing' trick.

my next journey is to get on to trading on a low budget and see what i can do, but need to finish reading my book first.

i am trying to get my 1200 euros back as it is over £1050, was only £800 the time they ceased trading so didn't care too much. but the maltese gaming authorities won't reply to my emails despite giving them all my details to put in a claim.

I'm bad for buying a pint in the pub with a fiver then sticking the change in a bandit - wouldn't be too bad but £5 a pint is quite expensive!!!

i gamble every friday and saturday....on the lottery.

Often have a few quid on the slot machines online.

Best payout so far was £2500 on the monopoly board game with mecca bingo.

It's very easy to get carried away though online especially, you seem to forget it is real money !!
