As per thread.

Am just wondering if anyone has a rough idea how much you can draw out of bank roughly at once.....? i know all banks are probably different

I just need to draw out if possible £3400 for some flights and put it in another bank acount so i dont get charged the 2% handling fee....which i would if paid by visa/

Thanks

you can go to the counter and get them to temporarily lift the amount you can get out of the atm but afaik there's no limit instore ish

I've taken out over 3k over the counter before, was a while ago too, you should be ok
#3
No limit you just give them notice if it is a large amount

I recently drew £3000 without notice, take your cheque book and your passport for ID, they will usually do this amount, but anymore and you will have to ring your bank and give them 24 hours notice.

Halifax wouldn't let me draw out £4500 for a car, which was a bit of a pain as i was on my way to pick the thing up!

I have got online banking at the yorkshire but not at the Santander, they are Isa's plus dont they take time to transfer i need to do it tomorrow the flights are on hold for 24 hrs.
#15
Doesn't matter who you are paying it too, not sure about the ISA bit but I've just done one and it said it should be the other bank account in 2 hours (not the same bank)

You are better off transferring ISAs, if you move from one account to the other as you suggest you will lose that amount of your tax free amount in this tax year

There's a £10k daily transfer limit at RBOS, but they didn't mention whether that was by law or just by policy. £3.4k with anyone ought to be fine, though - how could anyone use an ISA account if they couldn't transfer as much as that from one account to another?
#21
I took 5k out of Santander in branch, but had to wait until the next day to do it because they have limits on how much they can give out in 1 day or something. So 3400 should be fine if go in the morning

Over £500 in lloyds requires ID and maximum is 3000 - anymore requires a phonecall or a visit the day before...

I went to HSBC to try and take out £500 cash for currency and I was told i can only take out £300 from the ATM outside. I said why not just let me take the £500 over the counter and she wouldn't help me at all! Idiotic bank our local is!
#24
Well i went to Santander this morning, they was only going to let me have £500 then told them what it was for and she went to speak to the manager and she authorised it....yehhh !!

To transfer the money to another bank account for today it would cost £20.00....not paying that lol...

Otherwise should have waited 48 hours.

Then tried to sell me a morgage, insurance house and life, and a new banks account took me an hour to get my money arhhh !! Cr*p bank

Glad you got it sorted, but were you really looking for an answer on here? Your question couldn't have been any less specific :D

Absolutely rubbish bank. No wonder they rank at the bottom of the tables for customer satisfaction.

I took out £3,400 with no problems, in fact I more trouble paying in a £3,000 cheque as they wanted to know where it had come from.
