Looking at selling my iphone soon once my contract runs out. Its an iphone 2G 16GB, got all box, leads etc... however its got a few scratches on the back, and a dint or two.

Looking at some other contracts too, can anyone recommend some. Atm I think orange are offering the best, £30 a month and £180 for white 3gs 16gb phone

if your thinking of selling it here then check out the fs boards for other listings similiar to what you have, but remember not to list for a full 7 days after getting this locked up

if your gonna sell via ebay, again look through other listings to see what they have sold for

if selling anywhere else, use the above to get a general idea

dont go orange mate, their data usage policy is a sham, hardly "unlimited" at all.

You should prob look to get around the £175-£200 mark for the 2G 16GB iPhone depending on the overall condition.

cheers guys, rep given.

Might stick with 02 then, only problem is they dont seem to be doing the iphone 3g 16GB anymore. Im not really interested in the 3gs, but the 3g 8GB is only listed

is it much more expensive? My friend bought a 3G about a month ago from there and his contract is almost identical to mine on the 3GS, and I know that mine runs a lot faster than his does.

not sure if this helps but I think my friend said he phoned up O2 to see about an upgrade and they offered him a retention iPhone deal. They said he could have a free 32GB 3GS and they would give him a £9 discount for 18 months and then have a bolt on for extra texts for £5.

Think you just need to phone up O2 and select the retentions department or thinking about leaving O2 option. Also if you're on O2 iPhone then you can upgrade one month early to another iPhone plan or wait to move onto another option.

Of course it would. Phones dont last forever - especially the battery, which is only made to last a year.

Yep there's loads of guys on avf who have been offered this deal

Really annoying, because when I upgraded my iphone I was told that the iphone rates are fixed and non-negotiable. This was about 4-5 months ago... It was before Orange were in on the act though, which might explain it, as they had no competition at the time.

news to me. My battery still works fine, always drain it then charge it.

It will be a shorter full to empty move than when it was new though. The iphones battery is notorious for this - if you take apple care out its main selling feature is that they replace your battery after a year or something, because they acknowledge how bad it is! IMO its bad enough to begin with... mines always 100% at 9am in the morning and less than 10% by midnight...
