How much does it cost to remove and reinstall a radiator?

Morning, needed the radiator off for a week while the plasterer is in etc,

So the guy gets a plumber to come down, he has it down in 10 mins capped etc,

and is going to replace it when I am done. He told me how much he wants for doing this

and I seriously thought he was pulling my pi**er.

How much do you reckon this should normally cost to do? Baring in mind it is the

smallest of radiators!

That's reasonable, especially if you cannot do it yourself.

IS there no way you would attempt it yourself ?

Its pretty easy really.

is that including new radiator?

seriously, just do it yourself. you only have to fix back on wall (probably on existing brackets), and then tighten two bolts.

its the simplest of diy jobs.

btw, its only 10 mins work if he lives next door. you have to take into account his commuting time.

have plenty of long thing containers to catch water and towels ready :)

not really necessary when putting a radiator back on (unless you cant tighten a bolt properly ;-))

but needed when taking off surely? (I realise the OP has already had it done, but others may have benefitted.)

You can't judge what you have to pay others for their services based on what you get paid.
£55 might seem a lot for 10 mins but that's reasonable don't forget that covers him calling twice, his tax(?), insurance ,van etc even though the tax man might never see it.
