We paid £900 18 months ago and ours is a huge front door. A friend in the business supplied and fitted. If you go for one make sure it is reinforced with wood. If you live on Merseyside I can PM you the details of person who did ours.

I have my own company that fit windows and doors. I charge from £500 - £560 for rear door and £550 - £650 for a front door. Prices go upwards depending on the style, fittings, colour etc.

I've got 2 upvc door panels in white with glass design if your interested? They are both brand new still in packaging as the company my dad worked for sent us the wrong design then colour (one with small green glass sections and one with blue) You will need to get the door frame but they dont cost much. Both are standard size. Let me know if your interested.
Both are like this (3rd one across)

2 PVC doors £1300 Supplied and fitted is reasonable but im sure if you looked around and got a few more quotes from reputable companies you could get them down to £1,000

Also you need to find out if they reinfoce their doors with Steel or not so they dont cause problems over time.

Not really. Wooden doors expand aswell.

PVC doors are bullet proof if they are reinforced and installed correctly.

Also, the bonus of not having to paint them or anything is a massive Plus +

nice looking doors but don't know anyone who would fit them, thanks though:thumbsup:

I would go for the UPVC doors. .. if you ever watch the police crime progs' on the TV you will see they have a lot of trouble trying to smash throught the UPVC doors while they break the wooden framed ones down in seconds!!

My partner and his dad fitted both doors and all the windows by themselves with no trouble, or you could get a builder to do it. Works out alot cheaper than what you've been quoted.
