we had ours done last yr, downstairs hall ((abt 7m long) all up the stairs and top landing too cost us abt £150 i remember and we provided the plaster abt 4-5 bags at 3 quid ish each. but that was done by a good friend of the family for cash, always worth offering cash tyo the building trade, will 9/10 times get you a better price still

I paid £400 i think to have mine done. Its only a small 2 bedroom house and the hall and landing are none existant really. Ive just had my living room done which cost £300.

They supplied all the materials.

I wouldnt pay £700 not for a skim, unless its a huge room. Try and see if you can get a hold of one of the plasterers that work for the council, look out for their vans. See if they will do it in their own time. I bet they dont charge you £700 and itll be the same people that would of been doing it.

You want to get a council property plastered, why? It's not your house yet, am I wrong to think they could kick you out at any point.

Thats like saying why put wall paper up. My mum lives in a council house and shes paid for loads of plastering to be done. Why.... because its her home.

its their home regardless of being council owned. people dont get evicted for no reason and even then there is a process

daft snobbish/childish comment

Council = Secure tenancy. Providing you are law abiding not anti social etc and pay rent on time

I'm not a plasterer, but would reckon around £250-300 going by the prices I've paid in the past.
