well you sometimes lose a tad more in the first weeks but a sensible loss is 1-2lbs a week, any more and it will prob creep back on quick
#3
cut down on certain stuff if you can, switch to skimmed milk, low fat spreads, diet drinks, it will help at least. fill up on fruit and drink loads of water

If you do sufficient excercise and eat healthier...and perhaps lower amounts, there is no reason why a general person cant lose approx 3-4lbs a week? To be honest it depends on loads of other factors...I went through a month of cutting down portions, eating healthy and swimming a mile a day. I lost around 5lbs a week for a month...then i got stressed with uni and put it back on!
These are only my guesses...dont want to get slated for over/under approximating lol

i agree with the above 1-2 a week is best you usually loose 3-4 in 1st week maybe more but then take it really slow and it will stay off if you loose it too fast it will come back on good luck :)

Try smoking and taking recreational drugs.

I gave up both a year ago, Now I need to start again as none of my clothes fit me.

2-3 pounds if you stick to it, but it depends on your diet and exercise.

Cut out carbs, make sure you eat smaller meals every 2-3 hours, focus on cardio work and don't starve yourself.

yeh was sort of thinking 3lb a week would be good as i would be like 1 stone 4lb lighter which i think i would be comfortable with showing myself off in my bikini lol.

well my estimation seems higher than everyone else....put a skimpy bikini on now....take a photo...put it in your purse....then whenever you fancy that chinese or bar of chocolate look at the photo....just dont leave your purse laying around or else you might look a bit cookoo :?
I hate to admit it but when i was doing the swimming i felt so drained and ill, think it turned into an obsession, only stopped cos i didnt have the time any more, and my housemates were actually getting worried about me.

anyways, whatever you do, good luck and im sure you will look fab :)

Also take a look at the amount of butter etc you eat, change it for a lower fat one and use less.

Dont use oil anymore either, switch to the 1cal spray thing.

I read recently of the baobab fruit diet. It is a fruit from Africa that has just been passed for use in the UK. It sounds amazing! It is organic, and has 6 x the Vit C of oranges, prebiotic, omega 3-6-9, fiber, the list goes on..... What you do is have a baobab drink in the morning, one in the afternoon, and a healthy meal for dinner. A bit like Herbal Life, Slim Fast, one week, etc. but it is organic, and natural, and sounds ten times better. Some for sale on ebay...I might try it next week :)

Here's the bumf from ebay -

* 6 x Times more Vitamin C than Oranges
* 2 x More Calcium than Milk - Great for vegetarians and vegans!
* 6 x Times more antioxidants than Cranberries, Blueberries, and Blackberries
* 2 x More antioxidants than Goji Berries
* Omega 3, 6, & 9
* Vitamins A - C - B1 - B2 - B6 - PP
* Pro & Prebiotic
* Appetite regulator
* Full of Fiber & Protein
* High Anti-Oxidant capability
* 0.02% Fat
* More Iron than red meat
* 6 x Times More Potassium than a Banana
* More Magnesium than Spinach

Fad diets don't work.

I agree. But I done a 47 day juice fast 2 years ago and lost 58 pounds, so the "rules" clearly don't apply to everyone. I am just going to use it as a way to detox, and cleanse my system, but it would be perfect for what the OP is looking for imo...

You 'detox' as well? There are plenty of books out there for people who believe in 'detox'.

Anyway, fad diets don't work. You might lose 'weight' but if you want to lose fat then the best way is to eat healthy and exercise.

Funny how people introduce diets by saying 'I heard about this new diet...'.

By eating the right foods and moderate exercise you could lean up and lose around 7-14 pounds. But do note, that when you stop that exercise and eat crap again..then that weight will pile back on quicker than ever....:)

'detox' to me is taking it easy after a couple of days eating 'bad', if you know what I mean?

If you eat sensibly your body usually tells you what you need to eat, somedays I may want chips, pizza etc, the next day I'll suddenly want green veg.

Listen to your body, and when the clothes start nipping, listen even more,lol

That's exactly what I think being healthy is - knowing your body well enough to give it what it needs.

Everyone knows that "fad diets", as you call them don't work and the best way to loose weight is to eat healthy and exercise, but I think the OP was after some suggestions that might help her and her situation. A juice fast, or using the product mentioned alongside freshly squeezed fruit and veg juices would help her. (think of it like liquidized food with less calories) After she looses the weight, which she will, for her holiday, when she comes back she can start a whole new healthy eating/living - routine/regime.

You don't need to flood your body with fresh nutrients in the fruit and veg juices, you could just replace tea-coffee-soft drinks with water (or herbal tea), cut out the sweets,crisps,cakes, and go for a 30 minute walk every night or second night if you can. You will loose 7 pounds easy!
There is a lot of people who will tell you this and that. I can only tell you what worked for me :thumbsup:
