How much is my 3yr-old Dell Inspirion 6400 laptop worth??

I am thinking about upgrading my 3-yr old Dell Inspirion 6400 laptop to a new Dell laptop (with HDMI) but can't decide on a price for selling.

Here is the spec.

Windows Vista
Intel Core Duo T2400 / 5 Mb Cache / 1.83 GHz / 667 MHZ FSB
15.4" Wide-screen XGA Display
120 Gb 5400 rpm Sata Hard Drive
1 Gb DDR2 SDRAM / 553 MHZ
256 Mb ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 Hyper memory

Unfortunately the battery no longer works. Comes boxed with original restore disks etc

I would give it 8/10 for condition but it has a few light scratches on the outer case only (screen is immaculate) . I paid £550 3 years ago for it - I am think about £220-£250 on this site - any thoughts on a price fellow HotUk'ers?

I have a very similar spec laptop (T2300 / 256mb ATI X1600 / 2gb RAM) might keep hold if it's going to fetch £100 ish

If/when you do list it I'd be interested - perhaps (assuming its allowed) you can PM me when you re-list it?

cheers,
dan

I'd say it's worth more than £100, I got £92 for a totally dead Vostro 1000 on ebay.

Look at the completed listings on ebay for similar laptops.

I can't believe my laptop is worth so little after only 3 years.:?

I'd revalue it now nearer the £150 mark at a push

I'm surprized it might be worth near £150, you can get a lot higher spec with a years warranty from £250+

i would say £130

If on the bay would say you might get £120 after fees etc. The problem is the Battery since Dell ones are so expensive and you would have to highlight the battery is faulty. If the battery was ok would then be looking at around £160 so not really worth buying one in.

i have a Dell Vostro 1500 just coming up to 2 years and the battery is nearly gone on that (15 Mins if lucky). Dell batteries are known to be poor.
