How much is my iPhone 3g 16gb Black worth?

Hi,

I am thinking about selling my iPhone 3G, but not sure how much it's worth. There seems to be a real varience in pricing, so I thought i'd ask.. (won't list it for at least 7 days as per rules mind you).

The details:

- 1.5 years old
- Black, 16g model
- Locked to o2
- Fully boxed etc, unused USB cable. Cannot find the headphones.
- General wear and tear, no cracks on it at all.
- Issue 1: small vertical light scratch (under 1cm) on glass. Noticable at certain angles, touch screen / LCD still fine, glass can be replaced for about £30 i believe.
- Issue 2: power button on top doesn't work any more... It still sticks out, it's just no longer working. I believe these buttons can be picked up on ebay for next to nothing if you know what you're doing. It still clicks and everything, just like it was when new. It just doesn't do anything anymore when you click it.
- Everything else is fully working!

What sort of price should I expect to get for this?

T&C's from the site:

If you post your Equipment in to Royal Mail via a pre-paid envelope, to receive the full value of your Equipment (as stated on this website), it must satisfy the following conditions:

•It must be in working condition if you declared the Equipment as working as part of the web quotation. For example, a working phone has to power up (switch on) and have no water damage;
•It must not have significant damage, although it may have some mild cosmetic damage (general wear and tear);
•The LCD screen must not be cracked or damaged;
•The keyboard and / or operating switches / buttons must be present and not damaged beyond normal wear and tear;
•The full case must be present and not damaged beyond normal wear and tear;
•Lens must be present (if applicable);
•Mobile phones and MP3 players must have their batteries;
•Where a camera requires a specialist battery, this must be included;
•If it is a mobile phone, it must not be subject to a current contract with a mobile phone operator;
•If it is a mobile phone, it must not be pin protected;
•It must be a make and model that appears on this website;
•It must not be blocked, or registered as lost or stolen ; and
•It must be of UK or European specification.

Ah, well tbh, for like £7 i can replace that button anyway, so it's still good to know I can get circa £200 from the company :-) (after the cost of the button)

Will let you know if they are any good! I only signed up today, yet to actually receive an enevelope and money!
#16
You could probably sell the box and other bits on ebay to get more money!!
#17
Maybe, I dunno... I think i'd rather sell to someone who actually wants it all together..
#18
Anyone else got any further thoughts before i close and wait my 7 days?
#19
ok thanks for the info guys, after reading here / looking at eBay, I will put it on at £220 in 7 days time I think :-)
#20
Better off starting at 99p with no reserve auction mate, you'll get much more interest!

I've sold 3 iPhones on there so kinda have some "experience" lol.

You'll get so many questions it'll be crazy!! I think you'll pick up about £245

you could always try the mobile phone comparison site which compares all recyclers, sell mobile phone of any kind to them at http://www.comparemobilephonerecycling.co.uk
#22
hi,i believe most recyclers will drop the price arround half,i would not go to scum sites as mpx or sell old phone etc.as they class it non working and pay you arround 15%, i heard rpc and envirofone are paying pretty high percentage for working phones with little faults..
Or you can compare them all here they got a best price guarantee,so if you find a better deal,they double the difference and pay you.
