Go on Ebuyer and price each item up individually. Should give you an idea of total value.

24" screen isn't the biggest screen for a gaming pc, and there will probably be some stupid 3D gaming screen to be released soon

yes but say you pay £1000 for it you could buy a really good pc now for £400 (inc screen)

then another good one for £400 when you feel the first is obsolete (which will be a really long time). and you will still be £200 up.

I spent £2000 on my pc about 3 years ago... and i regret it. the pc itself is only worth about £250/£300 now and the only things left that i like about it are the screens

Unfortunately no such thing as future proof in PC building etc.

if you want my honest opinion, i'd say tell your friend to chance it on ebay. and if you want a PC then buy one that is suited for your needs. PCs are so cheap now that you don't need to invest so big into them and hope they stand the test of time.

Get something brand new for around £400 - £500 then.

3d computer screen tech has been around for years. I was playing 3d games around 10 years ago with the Elsa 3d Revelator.
