Me and my girlfriend thinking about getting a house together (Wahoo nomore washing my own socks) Just a few questions first.. On average how much does it cost a month for water, electricity, Council Tax, Internet and landline. Were only young so just going to be renting for now. We have been considering house sharing aswell as its £75 for a Double room with en suite in a newly built house, Really nice area.. Only thing is the other person we would be sharing with likes to lick random peoples toes and is a serial killer ( Isnt actually but could be you never kno)

If you're gonna rent, try and get a place of your own. I personally would never share as it'll never feel like your own pad. As for costs, be prepared for a huge shock in the difference in what you'll have to pay monthly and what you're probably paying now.

I would say £250-£300 a month, not including rent or other non essentials like food

Oh and my brother in law has just taken it into his head to rent a £600 a month house.... That won't last long obviously.

I don't wanna scare you by telling you how much it will cost, lol!

Council tax will depend on the area, and house type...
Water will depend on whether the house uses a meter, or not...
Gas and Electricity will vary depending on which company it is with (and usage, of course)....
Internet will vary greatly depending on size and who with...
Landline will probably be about a tenner a month.

I think if I added up all those, it'd probably be about £250 a month for those bills alone!

Then you have mobile phone bill, actual landline calls, insurance, etc, etc...

Rough guide to what i pay here in the valleys....
Per month
Council Tax £109
Electric £80
Gas £40
Water £33
Tv Licence £11 ( ish i think)
Phone, & Internet £ 15 ( other halfs works offer , it would be alot more than that)
Insurances £30
Mortgage £ 443

This is just total basic costs

Not including car costs, food, kids dinner money for school,
Im lucky i have no credit cards, no loans etc

It also changes depending on where you live.

I know with everything, petrol, food ect my basic outgoing is 1k per month.
