Theres no way in hell the 2nd pen was valid.

Kevin Nolan attacks the keeper and puts him in a head lock, but sends Diaby off for a lame push. Wheres the consistency?

Dowds looked **** for a while.

He gave Rooney a soft yellow imo.

Always gonna be human error. Dowd walked off today like it was him that had won. Think he's sending a msg to Arsenal for last week.

LOL it did look like Phil Dowd got caught up in the atmosphere and tried to aid a newcastle atmosphere.

What annoyed me about the united ref, is that Berra pretty much took a piggy back ride on Vidic from one side of the box to the other with the ref looking directly at him. And nothing.

I think some of them like to make an example of the bigger teams.

Ref in the man u wolves game was fine. Man u players were as disgraceful as ever, petulant to a man.

And we don't want down reffing in the championship, we already have enough Shute ref thanks

Scholes and Fletcher were both telling/waving to card Wolves players.

P.S. How was Giggs not carded for mauling Doyle after the whistle? Took a massive swipe at him and nothing!

Don't **** me off. Ref was a shocker, not blaming the ref for the defeat but he needs to up his levels.

Nolan was out of order but diaby attacked both Nolan and Barton.

Refs are getting worse. The ref for the Reading v QPR game didnt know what he was doing at times
#13
If you got as many things incompetently wrong as Dowd did in any other job you would be sacked immediately.

What decisions did he get wrong? Games just been on. Every decision they showed (granted it was only highlights) was spot on.

Nolan was out of order but diaby attacked both Nolan and Barton.

But the thing is Diaby would've been sent off for either incident and correctly so, you're telling me if he hadn't pushed Nolan that he would've only got a yellow card? That ref couldn't wait to pull out the red. For there to be some consistency then Nolan should've been sent off. OP is totally correct, it weren't just the big decisons that he got wrong as well, he was constantly giving free kicks for nothing, while our players are cynically taken down and nothing given. I don't know if it's just Dowd that is awful but that referee the other night, Mason, gave a goal that was 2 yards offside, they shouldve restrospectively punish referees if they are going to continously be this bad.
#22
surely though the players should also be retrospectively punished for harassing the referee?

I do prefer the game with a human element, times when the time i support have been robbed and also been very lucky, its swings and roundabouts.

Diaby deserved to go, pushing people around like that isnt good. Barton's tackle was fast and firm but he did win the ball.... Nolan though wrestling with the keep wasnt a wise idea, but surely the keeper shouldnt be keeping hold of the ball?

I've watched it again, and I can honestly say that Nolan was lucky to get away with a booking, he should of went. But Diaby was stupid (as was Nolan), Diaby didn't help himself by attacking 2 Newcastle players. The ref didn't have the best of games, but he gave wrong decisions both ways. As I said earlier in the thread (or in a related thread) I like Arsenal and I think they are the best footballing team in the league (and as such I'd be happy if they won the league). However the reaction of your fans after our 4th went in was priceless.

Arsenal are the only team in premiership history to give away a 4 goal lead. Deal with it. You like it when everyone talks about Arsenal being the first invincibles, now here is another record that we'll never forget :)

Yeah well at least you know our games will always be interesting, United are so average and their matches so boring it's actually appalling that they might win the league. Barca and Arsenal should be 2 great games and both these teams deserve to win their respective leagues.

Average? Ha!! 29 games unbeaten, including putting arsenal to bed at old trafford, and you have the cheek to call us average.

Arsenal like to say that they play the best football, however they haven't won the league in 5 or so years. Strange one that. Now Barca, they play some brilliant football which is why they win leagues and European cups. Arsenal are pretty much a poor mans Barca.

Final point, the thing that makes me laugh about Arsenal is that their "good football" philosophy goes out of the window once they go a goal behind. I've seen, on countless occasions, the ball being lofted from defence to attack when Arsenal are searching for a goal. Unfortunately the same can't be said for Barca, so lets not start comparing Arsenal to Barcelona now :)

I rest my case.

You might've gone 29 games unbeaten, but any United fan will admit you were average at best. I've tried to endure some your games this season but they are so boring and there's no sort of style to your play. A great example would actually be against us, where you packed the defence and midfield and actually changed your entire system just to nulify our play. In the end you won from a fortunate goal after the cross was deflected. If we have Van Persie, Cesc and Walcott fit for the match at the Emirates (we had none of these 3 starting at Old Trafford) then I really can't see United stopping us from scoring no matter how boring they play.

Barca are clearly the best team in the world so I'd have no problem with us being a poor mans Barca, at least we're being compared to one of the greatest teams of all time. United are scraping through the season with such bland football and pure luck, and it's a good thing that luck ran out yesterday. And we loft the ball forward? Bit rich coming from a United/Chelsea fan.

'French news wire Foot365 are suggesting that Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky and Referee Phil Dowd are under investigation from Interpol, after ‘suspicious money transfers’ took place during Saturday’s astonishing 4-4 draw against Newcastle.'
#29
The 29 games unbeaten masks how average they have been. Shed load of draws. Just a shame we have been inconsistent at home, should be way ahead. Its all good though, plenty of games for Man Utd to drop points. Still have City, Chelsea 2x and us away, Majority of our tough away games are done and dusted.
#30
Well after admitting that you've hardly watched any of our games this season, it pretty much nullifies your point about United being average. Some of the football United play is a joy to watch, and not wishy washy football like Arsenals, but direct, effective football.

After your comment i'm not sure if you've actually seen Park's goal against you lot. Here you are Too call it lucky is just ridiculous, give credit where it is due please. I think you are also forgetting that you played 4-5-1 at Old Trafford, and United dominated possession, so once again INVALID POINT. Walcott? Oh please the guy has the touch of a snooker cushion and has never made an impact against United.

I personally look forward to the games at the Emirates as Arsenal are forced to play open football in front of their fans and end up getting hammered on the counter. Look forward to seeing how your dodgy defence handle Chicharito, Nani and Valencia running at them full pelt on the break. Should be interesting ;)

You do realise that Arsenal drew 12 games during their unbeaten season right? Also scoring only 72 goals. United are on 55 goals with 13 games to go sooo....

I've heard all that "we have the easier run in" rubbish before. We'll see come end of the season who the champions are.

These points are nonsensical. I didn't say anything about Park's finish, I said the cross was deflected which is where the luck came in. And I've seen more than I'd like of United this season and everytime the play can only be described as average. You have a pretty good defence which is why you are top but other than that your team is mediocre. And maybe Walcott hasn't done anything against United previously because in the few games he did play against Utd, they put 2 markers on him? Rooney was effectively playing as a wing back the last time Walcott played. Anyway, Walcott has progressed massively this season so I can't see that being a problem this time. If United do win the league it will be mainly down to the failings of others rather than them being good, but I think now United have lost 1 they will lose several more at least, us and City are still definitely in the title race.
#33
LOL this is what I don't understand. United have scored the most goals in the league, so if our attack is mediocre, what does that make Arsenal's?

Sometimes people need to give credit where it is due instead of making up reasons why United shouldn't win the league. We're the best team in the league, otherwise we wouldn't be 5 points clear at the top. Nuff said
#34
Well you're only 4 points clear and have got Man City on Saturday so we'll see how that goes.

The only one I heard about last night was that Jamie Carragher had been arrested in London last night on supsicion of theft as he seemd to have had £50 million in his back pocket for most of the day.
