RAM: 512 Megabytes for Windows XP and VISTA 1 Gigabyte or more is HIGHLY
RECOMMENDED

Hard Drive: 20 Gigabytes with at least 10 Gigabytes of free space

Modem: 56Kbps Internal or External modem

CD-ROM & Floppy Drive: 32X Speed CD-ROM R/W, R/W DVD, or a 3 1/2 Floppy (one backup device is needed: CD, DVD, or floppy)

Sound Card & Speakers: 24 bit sound card and a set of speakers

Monitor: 17" Color monitor capable of 1024x768 resolution or higher

I am absolutely useless.

Getting more RAM would be a much cheaper option. However having a laptop is handy as well and you can get really good spec ones for good prices now. :)

Have a quick look through Deals...........all of the laptops in there will be of a high enough spec for what you've put above. :)

With laptops now it's as much about what they look like as to what they do..........you can get them in all colours and allsorts. But you should find a very good one for what you want for around £300. :)

u should be able to greatly increase them specs on a lappy for under 300
I picked up 3 x toshibas, dual core 1.8, 200g hdd, 2g of ram dvd rewriter, webcam, wifi blah blah for 250 a piece

I have used laptopsdirect.co.uk before and had great deals from them also, they do some gr8 grade a/as new deals for under £200 with warranty

Argos clearance for the toshibas, all came as new and sealed! 1 years rtb warranty, think me kids gonna be chuffed come xmas ;)

argos link dont work btw, you can get better than that for that price tbh, try looking on other websites, dont stick to argos, currys, pc world etc, look at places like novatech, or go direct to manufacturers and see what they have.
