My main PC is a piece of junk Medion P4 that is slowly dying.

It's currently on it's third power supply and that feels like it's going. I've built a few SFF PC's from scratch but never bothered to upgrade my own as I also use a laptop.

I have a Shuttle P4 (2gb ram, 300gb HDD) sitting in my wardrobe that has barely been used but lacks an official copy of XP and needs an AGP graphics card to allow it to run in widescreen (Monitor is widescreen).

Built on 31st December 2005, finished a few minutes before 2006

I built it myself, cost about £900

DFI Lanparty RDX200
Opteron 146 @ 2.65Ghz (equivalent to Athlon FX57)
1Gb Corsair XMS
Powercolor X850XT 256Mb
160Gb, 250Gb, hard drives
DVD-RW
19 inch Acer AL1916W TFT monitor

Only thing I have upgraded is I've added more RAM and 2 extra 500gig hard drives, got the extra gig of ram from ebay for £30ish over a year a go and got the hard drives from ebuyer over a year ago.

No hardware failures

May add a pick later.

Looking to upgrade soon, any advice? I'm thinking I'll wait until i7 is a bit more affordable (I'm a student).

Our pc was bought in May either 2000 or 2001 - can't remember if we bought it the year our eldest was born, or the year after! It cost us around £1,000. :w00t:
Can you imagine what we would get for that money now?!!!
About 3 years ago we put in a cd-rw.
My brother put a 2nd hard drive in it for us last year and installed XP, we were using ME before that.

Good news is, my mum has given us some money and we are in the market for a new computer. I can't wait to have a flat screen monitor, with a nice sharp picture!!

PS Have I got the oldest pc on HUKD?
