How soon should you book Airport parking?

Looking to book airport parking for Cardiff airport in May.

Just not sure when to book it by, Also are the ones where you keep your keys better than the ones you have to leave your keys?

Never had to use this, but not dragging 3 kids and a moaning husband to the airport with luggage on public transport! :)

The sooner the better.

(try out purple parking as well) - public transport lol, it's a private bus that ferrys you from the car-park depot to the airport, not the No.73. i've used the service a few times and it's great.

Am I being tight, but does £65 for 7.5 days seems loads or is it the going rate? I will pay what I have to, just wondering if thats about right or on the high side?

Try shopping around for prices, but I have used Purple Parking at Gatwick and they were really good.

I wouldn't go to one where you leave your keys - the only reason they would need your keys is if they are intending to move your car which I wouldn't want anyone doing! I saw on a programme that they move peoples cars to another site where they cram they altogether to save space and then move it back when you are due back.

I dont like the idea of leaving my keys either. But the one where we dont take the keys which is onsite parking wants £82.

May I was in a dream world thinking I could get it for about £50-£60 max lol Just having 3 kids passports to buy then this, its shocking me how much this so called cheapish family holiday is costing! lol

I paid around £70 (before Quidco) for 14 days parking in August last year (that was at Newcastle though)

...oh, forgot to say, I think most sites will be 24hrs. (it should say when you book) You just need to ring them when you arrive back.

has anyone ever used the service when you drop your car off at the depot and then a chauffeur delivers your car back to you at the airport upon your return. Does a person meet you at the airport to give you your keys and where is your car.

I know you don't want public transport, but is a taxi an option?

I just priced up a taxi. But due to the 5 of us we seem to have to pick the mini bus style. They want £105 each way, and its only a 44 mile trip.

might be worth checking:

and add a taxi fare

Checked a few sites.

That seems to be the going rate.

Thats what I thought considering its only £6.70 return on train to the city! lol But then again I need the advantage of my car with 3 kids, loads of luggage and travelling during the night! Couldn't handle 3 super tired kids on a train at 2am.
Think im just going to have to cough up. But now deciding do I leave my keys with them for £65, or keep my keys for £81.50! :)

Personally speaking, I had no problems with leaving the keys with them. It meant they could run the car back to the entrance on our return. (and clean it for us!)
It also meant I didn't have to worry about losing the keys while on holiday too.

I did take a note of the car mileage when I left it though so that i could tell if they'd been running around in it while I was away

Just thinking.... (can you tell I've thought of all these things too!)

Can you not drive to the airport and park in the 'short stay' car park. Then ask a relative (it would have to be 2) to pick up the car with a spare set of keys ? - and then they could return it to same car park on the day before you return. ?
If its only an hour drive to the airport then I'm sure a few quid would see them right ;)
You'd only have to pay the short stay price for each day that way?
