Have an original PSP 1003 but the analogue stick doesn't always go in the direction you are pointing it! Want to trade it in for a slim n lite so how thoroughly will they check it out?

wont get away with it, if u do you could be leaving sumone unhappy at xmas

I assume you would get some sort of guarantee on pre-owned stuff but I can see your point & agree it wouldn't be good if the buyer didn't check it out before wrapping for Xmas.

Anyone know how easy it is to change the analogue stick then? Am I likely to find a buyer who will fix it themself?

That's what i was thinking, in about a month or so there would be someone on here saying "Help - I've just bought a PSP and the analogue stick isn't working properly!!!"

Analogue sticks can be had off ebay for a few quid, changing it could be tricky, not sure. Gamestation will test hardware for 10-15 mins. You have to remember theyre trying to pay you as little as possible.

How much do you think I could get for it then?

It is a Phat Black PSP 1003
Official Firmware 3.72
Original AC Adapter
Original Battery Pack
Screen in mint condition – has had a screen protector on from new

If gamestation don't check that's their problem, try your luck I'd say.

took in a ds lite a few weeks ago and they spent at least 5 minutes checking it all over, from checking for scratches, listening to volume, checking all buttons, etc, etc

i would say the busier the shop at the time, the less time they will spend checking it. take it in when its quiet and they will devote some time to it.

Changing a analogue stick is easy, but the problem you describe may not be the analogue stick.

Whether they will accept a PSP that has had the warranty sticker removed is something you might want to check 1st.

The slim and lite isn't much better than the phat, so unless you are paying £20 or less exchange, keep the phat.

Don't really know that much about the problem as I never use it, it's the OH's, when playing Tiger Woods golf it doesn't always register straight away that you are pulling it down to power the swing, it does do it, it's just there is a delay.

I have only looked at the internet with it on starting the browser the cursor goes off to the right when you are not even touching it.

From what I've been told over the phone it would cost more than £20 to change to a slim n lite but at the moment it's not being used as he can't play the game he wants to!
