Telephone Preference Service, you register all your numbers on there and calls are supposed to stop.

When I was getting this sort of thing I set the ringtone for that number as silent so it didn't disturb me.

lol....

Can this be done with private numbers too?

There is a service available on landlines that allows you to block numbers, so it may be worth contacting your service provider and asking whether thay can arrange the same on your mobile number. It costs though, we paid about £4.50 a month when we were blocking land line calls.

I had to change my husbands mobile number a few years ago after a month of calls that just got more and more, have since registered with the telephone preference service and had no problems on any of our phones, so worth doing. Its free.

pleased to see you're still alive faevilangel, was it a chest infection then? Or something more sinister?

Hope you're on the mend either way:)

not sure ...... got really bad pains ....... the chest pains gone but got stomach pains now

gotta wait to see if pain dies down or if its something worse  brings back memories of my brothers appendicitis

im surviving though (with 2 days off work :-D)

If you are not getting any luck with GPs and don't want to go to A&E remember that a pharmacist can advise on some things. Pain is usually an indicator of something not right. Not attempting to scare you but don't ignore it for too long.
I have often had to ask myself "what would I advise somebody else to do if they said they had the same symptoms". If the answer is seek medical advice then thats what you must do.
Get better soon

This does work, but not instantaneously.. it takes a while for your number to be registered.

The TPS won't stop it, answer and request your details be removed from their database and then ring your mobile phone/landline company and they'll block it.

if its a mobile, i can block any number on mine from ringing and texting on my settings

The best method is to take one of the calls and insist they take you from their database now else you will report them to the data commisioner. That usually stops em for me
