My NAT settings on xbox live are on Strict meaning it is virtually impossible to join a Gears 2 game. I keep testing xbox live connection and it tells me the NAT settings are strict. It also says to switch off my router and turn it back on. I keep doing this but after about 2 weeks my settings go back to strict. Is there anyway i can permanently keep settings on open or moderate? All help is appreciated and rep will be left.

That's nothing to do with the 360's settings, the problem's with your router and it basically boils down to the way it passes things onto the 360. What make/model is your router? If you google for the model number along with "xbox 360 NAT" chances are someone has already solved it.

switch on upnp in router and enable dhcp server in lan settings on router then save / apply settings or whatever it says which might include restart router, have AUTO for IP in 360 and for DNS etc.

you will have to log into the router eg 192.168.1.1 or whatever bt told you to do to maintain set up router and then look to see if you can find that option in your router.
