ive just read two threads about debranding and changing the product code on the N95 so im just copying and pasting something ive wrote on a different forum for people to follow, lots of people have done it including me and have been successful btw

well the new nokia n95 firmware is now available via the nokia software updater

im just updating the firmware of mine now so il write a little guide on how to debrand and upgrade your N95 firmware

Install nokia pc suite and nokia software updater, make sure they are fully upto date

Plug in your phone and choose pc suite mode and install the drivers if you already havent

go into nokia pc suite and backup all your data using the option there.

disconnect your phone and go into menu, tools, memory card, options, back up phone memory to memory card

connect your phone to your pc and click pc suite mode. install NSS from here

http://www.b-phreaks.co.uk/software.htm

now goto NSS from your start menu and click the magnifying glass (scan for ne device)

after that click the pic of the nokia 6600 (phone info)

where it says product code type in your required product code from the ones below and tick the enable box

Code:

- Sand

0534841 EURO1
0534842 FRANCE
0534843 ALPS
0534844 EURO2
0534845 TURKEY
0534847 SCANDINAVIA
0534848 BALTIAN
0534849 RUSSIAN
0534850 UKRAINE
0534851 CIS, Bulgaria
0534852 EURO3
0534853 BALKANS
0534854 GREECE, CYPROS
0534857 ISRAEL
0536058 BELARUS/MOLDOVA
0534833 SINGAPORE

- Plum

0536062 EURO1
0536063 FRANCE
0536064 ALPS
0536065 EURO2 (the one i used, debranded UK product code)
0536066 TURKEY
0536068 SCANDINAVIA
0536069 BALTIAN
0536070 RUSSIAN
0536071 UKRAINE
0536072 CIS, Bulgaria
0536073 BELARUS/MOLDOVA
0536074 EURO3
0536075 BALKANS
0536076 GREECE, CYPROS
0536079 ISRAEL

now click on write and after a few seconds at the bottom left hand corner of NSS it should say done or successful or something.

after thats done close NSS and open nokia software updater

keep clicking next etc until it finds your phone and voila a new update is found.

let the nokia software do its job and you then should have a debranded UK version of the N95 with all features that should be there.

here are a few updates someone noticed:
Quote:
Faster and more responsive
Nice new theme
Colours are now much better in photo's and its got slighlty less noise reduction although its still to much imo.
Wifi works slightly better and gets a better signal.
auto locks keypad
GPS got a lock quicker than before although its still best to be still.
there should be some more things but its too early to tell.

Remember to have a fully charged battery on the phone, make sure your pc doesnt crash, make sure you take the memory card out, make sure the USB cable stays in the PC and your phone, disable your antivirus etc, dont use your pc etc

Please note that this may void your warranty and i am not responsible if you mess it up, you do so at your own risk

lol well thats my tutorial on how to upgrade your N95

remember to restore your back up after that and enjoy your updated phone

if after you restore your phone you get phone startup failed contact retailer all you gotta do is switch the phone off and then press 3, *, and the green call key and while having these pressed switch the phone on at the same time.

let go and your phone should start up normal but your backup will be deleted. when you restore your backup again make sure you only restore the messages, contacts and calender entries as i think the settings cause the phone to fail.

regards
