Well..I have an Multimedia Harddrive that got HDMI, AV, Compo output's i just want to see the output on my laptop rather than connecting to a TV.

I just want to capture the Output from AV source and Display it on a Laptop...

**************Cheap Solution Please...Not Watching Movies on this...This harddrive is capable of downloading torrents...So it will be handy to keep an eye on how the Downloads are progressing...*******************

There are 1000s of cheap USB video capture adapters available on FleaBay, any one of them should do the job.

What make model drive is it? If it is networked, can't you view the download progress via the web interface?

Wow, that's some serious hardware. Never touched one of those. Did you check if there is a hack/plugin to view the progress via the web interface?
