How to file eBay dispute/ remove buyer feedback?

Sold a phone on eBay to a buyer which left me feedback. Has now got back to me that the battery is faulty. (the phone was like new).

How can I remove the buyers feedback so I may go ahead and file a dispute?

I'm worried that he will end up keeping the phone and also get paypal to refund him (they always favour the buyer).

Any advice on this?

can he open a dispute once he's left feedback?

You cannot remove the feedback or start a dispute. You can either now ask him to return to you for a full refund - or he can start a dispute (if he has not left feedback) and he will be told to return to you and then he will get a full refund but only once you have received the phone back. He must return it by a service that can be tracked.

if paypal are to refund him , they would require him to send it back to you with a tracking number , when they see you have signed for return delivery , then he will get the money returned :)
done it myself :)

im not sure. I know as a seller, I am unable to open a dispute. There is no 'Resolve a problem' option available for me. I assume it's because he has left me feedback already.

I fear that if he himself opens a dispute, paypal will refund him (they always do), and buyer will not return the phone

they wont refund him without returning the phone, unless they refund themselves without taking the money from you

You will get the phone back so don't worry. He might ask you to make him a partial refund and he will keep the phone - do not give in to that. Also I think you must have left him feedback that is why the option is gone for you to start a dispute.

Ive got a classic one today, sold a radio to a guy, packed it really well and it was in fully working order when dispatched, when received the guy sends me a message in ebay, stating that i m a disgrace to ebay as the item he reeived was broken, He did not even consider it may be the psot office fault, he opens a dispute with both ebay and paypal

I raise the issue with paypal to a claim as I do not want to deal with this guy, dur to his wild accusations.

The screwed thing is, that if he had of approached prior to taking all this action I would have dealt with it swiftly and appropriately, but he cant, so will have to wait for paypal to decide - most probably in his favour, but you never know

lets wait and see
i was absolutely furious at the time, now only one ear is steaming,
snyone got a kent phonebook i might try and get his number and give him a piece of my mind

You know you can request his contact details if you want them. I know just how you feel - been there done that!

I had a similar problem. Sold a brand new phone, boxed and about a month later the seller tells me it didn't work the first time they put it on, even though they had it for a month!!! They made a paypal claim, and paypal made them return the phone, when i confirmed i recieved it they got their money back. I kept fighting the case saying how the seller messed me about and recieved a majority of the money back.

make sure you open it with the postman as witness....

Sorry, but realistically no postman is gonna stand there and act as a witness for you opening and inspecting the package. My postman shoves the PDA in front of me to sign, hands over the parcel and is in his van before I have shut the door.

Cheap way to get a new battery for a phone if they swap it out then claim it was faulty and get a refund.

Yep they refuse to this tried it before to confirm it was the right item.

Just watch out what you are signing for, if the buyer is out to scam you then you will get an empty box back or an envelope or even another phone than the one you sent them.
