How to format hard drive to FAT32

Just purchased a WD 500gb passport external hard drive as my current one is full so i can watch films and tv shows through my PS3.

Is their a way to format the drive to FAT32 as when I go into the drive it only gives me the option to format the drive to exfat or NTFS and these formats are not being recognised by my PS3

Anyone have any suggestions?

I've done all the above only to find to get the message "cannot format this drive to FAT" at the end of the process. I wish I'd kept my old Win98 computer.

BTW. I did this using a WD 500 gd HD too. Guess what? The drive was useless afterwards. I have four compters and none of them would recognise it. Maybe it was something I did or didn't do along the way, but be careful.

use the free edition of killdisk (dos) to wipe the hard disk, it will become a unpartitioned hard drive.
if windows does not pick up the hard drive in disk management in control panel, so that you can create a partition. Download a program called hdd regenerator, its a paid program but you can run a trial to see if there are bad sectors and etc on the hard drive.

both you need to copy to a cd and boot up from the start.
