you will need a vhs player and a dvd recorder

you will definately need a vcr although you should be able to get one from a car boot for a few quid.
was deal extreme or somewhere not selling something for about a tenner that would allow you to put this onto the computer then all you would need to do is convert to dvd

people on ebay do it as a one off service, i got a full tape done for 99p and i said bin the tape so the return postage was cheap for just the dvd  about 3 quid all in, better than shelling out 100+

Does your pc have a tv tuner? If not get one of these http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11267 about £9 then see if you can borrow a VCR or even ask on freecycle for one, we needed one for the same thing and was offered loads when asked, then its simply plugging the capture device to your pc and the video player to the capture device via a scart to phono type cable £1 shop sell them, all you then need to do is hit the capture button on your pc, sounds more complicated than it is and it will cost you around a tenner in total if you can get hold of a cheap=free vcr!

I dont think I'd want my old camcorder footage in someone else's hands!:whistling:

DVD's are so much more compact and easier to store:p
