HELP!

We've just got this new content filter at work (Bloxx) and it wont let me go on just about all websites. HUKD is working but nothing much else is.

Is there anyway around the content filter using Internet explorer? I also cannot download any new software such as firefox to get around it.

ALSO- as an added incentive I will pay £5 to the first person who get's me around the content filter. I will pay this via a paypal transfer. It's a small price to pay for unlimited internet access...

Use the free version - it's great.

Load a small module on your home pc - leave it on. ( u have broadband I take it)

You dial into your account on 'logmein' and use a web gui to access your own pc - you then do whatever you want on your own PC.

Easy Peasy

I've tried all these websites on this thread and they are all blocked. It's really annoying as I'm not sure what to do at work now. I'm going to have to do some work at this rate!

How bizarre! Doing work at work

I'll say it again but you may get the sack trying to get around your works content filter. The contents filters are normally monitored for anyone trying to circumvent security.

try this in google:

+"Include Form" +"Remove Scripts" +"Accept Cookies" +"Show Images" +"Show Referer" +"Rotate13" +"Base64" +"Strip Meta" +"Strip Title" +"Session Cookies" +"New Window"

Will find loads of proxys - go through to like page 10 and there should be lots not blocked

Proxy server or bypass proxy sites, try googling that. Or myspace bypasser etc.
#8
if they have any idea what they are doing they should be blocking bypass proxy sites too, if you look around enough you'll probably find one that works but they normally use a list that will be updated by a company like websense or smartfilter so once the site your using gets added to the list it'll be blocked.

If you can change your IE settings see if you can still get out after unchecking

tools > IE Options > Connections > LAN settings and uncheck the proxy settings in there. We don't allow users to change these settings though and the proxy sites behind a firewall so if they do manage to bodge these settings out all web traffic is blocked by the firewall unless it comes from the proxy which you are supposed to be using.

worto.

Dont bother changing settings - it wont work.

Try this:

A lot of offices actually block these type of sites, but I have a personal one I use, and it works on 100% of all blocked sites :)

for logmein you don't need to install anything on the local computer just your home one.
you simply log on thru the website, no goods if that's blocked as well but worth a shot

Cheers for all the advise. I'm just going to give some of them a go now. I'll let you know how I get on...

Just tried this and it worked. Cheers for that. What's the chances of getting caught before I go on some websites?

lol - sorry I went out for the day - I'm quite surprised that worked, what you might find is that each time you reboot your PC or overnight they run a job to reset those settings so you might have to keep chaning that setting each time you startup.

On the plus side as your not going through the proxy you have very little chance of getting caught until your mate goes to IT saying hey how come he can get onto bigb00bs.com but I can't

I'll give it a go on Monday. Not going to go onto any sites like that just stuff like youtube and forums etc...

Well after a few months of living the high life with the works internet, I'm back to square one...

they have installed new computer systems and I now can't use the old trick of going into connections and unlocking the proxy settings. I've gone through this thread again and tried all of the suggestions and haven't got anywere.

Would anyone have anymore ideas? I've heard somewhere that there is a way of bypassing it by the using the help menu. Is there any truth in this?

Please help, there will be a prize for the winner;-)

Not sure what this means.

Thanks for the advice so far, especially the job centre comment!

I tried the translator and it didn't work. It's a fairly up to date content filter and is pretty clever, too bloody clever. Anymore help would be appreciated....
