My kids pulled the windows button off their laptop the other day but the white bits were still attached to the back of the key so it just snapped right back on, have you tried putting it back on?

Depending on the model most will just "snap" back on (make sure any springs are in the correct place.)

if you haven't got the confidence to just do it then try searching youtube to see if anyone has uploaded a vid of it being done.

alternatively as it's just a month old and assuming it was bought in a "shop" then take it back and ask them to take care of it.

as he said most just snap right back on, you just have to look at where the clips on the keyboard/the key are

if they're snapped just try calling or emailing whomever you bought it from =]

I really wish most would just "snap" back on. Laptop keys coming of have been the bane of my professional and personal life. Most can be put back on but they're so infuriatingly fiddly I have nearly launched a dozen laptops at walls.

It doesn't seem as simple as snapping back on. there are two plastic bits

Thats the problem, there are two white plastic bits but they came off the key and separated.

I know this is a computer keyboard but the same principle applies http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2007/03/20/key-fell-off-keyboard/

Thanks. I have an old laptop which I use now and then and I thought the 'e' key was broke but looking at their picture and the white bits I have here I can see how this works. Rep+

My mate did this, and lost this key. Is there anyway to obtain a single letter or just a square plastic thing for laptops ?

It's worth checking ebay as there's some people who are selling individual keys which is very handy.
