Need to pay someone urgently for a purchase and can't pay via paypal as they've decided to limit it as someone other than me tried to gain access. Even though I've proved that it's me they won't let me pay anyone any money until they've processed it which according to them could take upto 28 days!!! Idiots!

So how do I pay? Thinking of using a friends account and having it sent to his address, is that the best course of action?

Just to add to paypal's stupidity they advertise that their 0870 number for customer services is a free phone number, this is surely charged at national rate. I have requested that they pay my phone bill for the call.

I've already got another (not a good idea as you're only meant to have one) but I can't use my cards with it as they're already on my main account.

I think I'm going to end up using a friend's account. Wondered if there was an easier way. On the phone to them now, gonna take time as has to be done manually. Well do it manually now then! Gone to check on progress now.

not letting me speak to a manager, not happy!

he must be busy in a meeting! :-)

No promise that it'll be sorted by a certain time but I'll know the time by 3pm today and it should be done by 6pm tonight. AND a £10 credit for the fact that their web-site claims their 0870 number is free phone!

She wouldn't let me speak to a manager at first as apparently it wouldn't make any difference, I beg to differ!

Theres always good old fashioned cheque or postal order, failing that just use anyone's Paypal account and add the recipient's email address and its instant, you just have to give the cash to your mate?

Now that's quick!!!

Funny how when I start shouting at them and threatening to find them and hold them against a wall by their necks they pull their finger out. Account back to normal as of 13:51, just 11 minutes after I got off the phone!

Result!

Ok, now how not to pay out of my balance? I want to pay from my credit card to get cashback + I earn money through paypal so it's either going to make my accounts harder or make it look like I'm fiddling the taxman. Maybe I should just pay the 50p or whatever and withdraw. If they hurry up with this £10 too then I'll be able to withdraw without paying!

Just choose alternate payment method when paying

Fixed now anyway, I assume you mean pay by cheque or something. Was looking for a much quicker solution and it appears shouting at people is the way forward.
