Just bought an X Box 360 with 20GB harddrive off E b a y and i'm going to pick it up this afternoon. Trouble is the person i've bought it off has sold all the games seperately so how can i make sure its fully working? He's got an old X Box game that he says he could use, will this prove it works ok and also is there anything else i need to test or check ie how do i prove the hardrive works etc?

Thanks for any help / tips ;-)

hard drive should be readable from the main menu - go to the last tab and then to memory. why not buy a cheap game to put in and try out?

rent a game from blockbusters or u must now someone that lend you 1 for few hours??

My 360 drive broke last month, would play dvd's cd's and xbox 1 games, but not 360 disks. Worth taking one with you. If you're picking it up in person, he's not going to be cheeky enough to sell it faulty though, I hope!

Considered buying a cheap game but thought if the older X Box game he had would prove its ok why bother wasting money on something i'll probably never play?

I'm not a member of Blockbusters and the only mate who i've got who has got one lives 45 minutes drive away, that was going to be my last resort if all else failed.

Well thats answered one of my questions then i really need to use a 360 game then as his could have the same problem whereby it only plays X Box1 games :?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions in the end i borrowed some X Box 360 games and checked they worked then tested it with a DVD film and just looked in the settings and the memory to see if it could be accessed to see if the HD was ok.

It works a treat Call of Duty 4 and Assasins Creed are amazing :w00t:
