Mmm...where to start?

(1) Been off sick with a bad case of tonsillitis, which has completely knocked me for six and I've had to have multiple courses of medication to get back on my feet - even now I'm struggling to get walking around and its a nightmare to even get out of bed to go to toilet sometimes!
(2) My client is very p!ssed off that I've been off sick for so long but I can't do to much about that but even though I've been working remotely where I can there is a good chance I'll be out of the contract (by them terminating it) when I get back into their end-user's office as I'm still a mess on my feet & they want me to do a lot of manual work.
(3) Girlfriend wants me to move back home with her to her country but I can't get a job over there (been trying on & off for years to get my foot in the door) as they only want locals so there's a strong chance she'll be breaking up with me - had a very teary eyed talk about it but she's feeling better about it whilst I feel like sh!t...hate being the good guy!
(4) Landlord put up the rent by extra £25.00p a week without any warning at all, which is a complete nightmare as I only have a couple of weeks until the current agreement will expire & the new one will kick in IF I sign it off (an extra £100.00p a month is not ideal just now).
(5) Parents aren't in good health but want me to get out of the UK whilst I can - only catch is dear old brother of mine wants me to stay to look after them, so he doesn't feel so guilty about not being there for them whilst they've been ill.

All in all a pretty cr*p start to 2009...plus I haven't had a drink in ages because I've been sick...suppose that's good as I haven't spent any money on booze.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Aww that sounds terrible.

You need to do what you think is best for you.

I admire you for playing the good guy while it hurts so much

I blame my morals and my folks for the way they raised me up! :p No seriously though its a right nightmare just now and I'm hoping its going to get better but I need to wait & see.

As soon as I'm back on my feet I'm off to do a heap of professional accreditations and then get the CV updated before I start reaching out to recruitment agencies in Australia, Canada & New Zealand to whether I can get my foot in the door over there - hopefully they are still looking for mentally deranged Scotsmen, so I should fit in over there at least! ;-)

The right bast**d will be the girlfriend and my folks...that's the two I really need to think over.

I'm sorry Scotty Boy and allstar2, what horrid times you're having right now.... group hug! :friends:

2009 been ok here I spose... I've decided this is the year I get my finances under control (joys!) so I am putting extra money towards my loan and credit card to get them paid off ASAP and extra to the mortgage too! Go me. Long may it last...! :whistling: Esp. as I still am buying things from here... although not as much! I'm managing to be a good girl.

Thanks for that and that's good to hear - fingers crossed your sorted out before the end of 2009, as I hate to think what's going to happen next year with that idiot Brown in charge.

Christ I could do with a drink but I can't as I'm still on Doctor's orders...

Thanks :-D

Well I've just done 3 years of nurse training that battered my finances a bit, so wanna get them sorted out. Debt grows to engulf you! And I want out of mine before that gets a chance to happen (and my debts aren't even that much thanks to nursing being a grant course and not student loans).

january has sucked, big time. my cat had cancer and had to be put to sleep. i have had a urinary tract infection for three weeks and had three different types of antibiotics(none of which have worked) and my wee girl(4) was diagnosed with asthma. hope february is better:-(

So far the year is good, sold the house and have had an offer accepted on the house we want in seaford, so as long as all goes well should be looking to move in April.
Only down side is kids have been ill with tonsilitis and eldest daughter has a lump just below her ear and doc's don't know what it is, so treating with antibiotics and if it dosen't clear they will have to scan it.
