HP printer help

I have an HP printer which is kept in my drawer until I need it.
Is there anyway I could put it in the spare room and use it from my laptop downstairs without using long cables such as a wireless connector?
Many thanks

It's supposed to have a built in print server (read network port). If it does, you can hook it up directly to your broadband router (if that happens to be in the spare room) or use a Wireless bridge if it is not. As long as your computer is connected to the router it will be able to print and scan .

Bluetooth is good for short distances. You will want a wifi adapter for it.

Nope, not compatible.

You could also buy 2 Homeplugs. One will plug into the printer and the other plugs into your broadband router.

Or how about a new printer? Photosmart C4580 and PhotoSmart C6380.
