But if you are genuinely interested in the windows 7 mobiles I'd say give them a try, I certainly am excited to see them.

they've certainly breathed new life into my hd2 by releasing a froyo rom, it's brill!!

they are updating it early next year to included copy and paste.
android is very customisable but its basically a load of rubbish. its just windows mobile in another form with a better marketplace. nothing innovative or unique.

but winphone7 on the other hand is basically microsoft putting all their eggs in the same basket with the live integration and the zune music and video software. it looks great.

Yeah because it worked out so well before....

you know windows mobile OS was out yonks before either ios or android so your point about it competing is invalid.

I think deathtrap is bitter, I've never come across an Android user who doesn't like it, and from what I've used it's great.

My dad's going to get the Desire HD.
Well not bitter, just not drawn into all the hype. Ive used both and i think they are the same. I cant see why one is better than the other. I remember people saying that microsoft were trying to put the desktop on your phone and thats exactly what google have done.

i think the win 7 interface could get a bit annoying after a while though i.e : endless scrolling and no multi tasking. hmmmm
#17
win 7 mobile interferce is a joy, and there is multi tasking :D

At the end of the day you cant really decide until you have a mess about on both os' before you can make a decision for yourself as thats the one that will count. Wait until the end of october then walk into a phone shop and play with the demo units.

Read a decent blog earlier that suggested Android is in a very poor state due to the freedom developers have, with many different versions of Android and many problems. Win 7 is going to be a lot stricter (similar to iOS) which should lead to overall greater stability.

If I can find it again I'll post it.

Curious to see the Win 7 phones, should be seeing plenty soon.

android in a poor state, in what sense ? android is top of the table with the most sales and growth currently and apple sales were actually falling.

We aren't here to talk fragmentation.

And windows 7 will have the same problems, they bring out another update, wait for HTC, Samsung, Dell etc to add their added hubs and customisations (they need their own customisations after all - to differentiate themselves from the competition), then wait for carrier bloatware.

Such is the circle of many hardware manufacturers.
