I've been looking @ exactly the same phones. Decided against the HD2 as I don't want winmo (already got a tytn ii), decided against the n900 because i don't want a resistive touch screen (especially while maemo 5 doesn't support multi-touch).
So reckon i'll be going for a 32gb 3gs, heard rumors that nokia will release an n920 (or something) with a capacitive touch screen like the iphone in time for the release of maemo 6 sometime next year i guess.

iphone imo, good luck getting a 12 month contract though.

iPhone all the way !

iPhone 3GS - Id leave it for a lil while though, as the new companies come into the contract market, prices will be shattered in a price war is my guess.

Iphone contract prices are all controlled by apple so it's unlikely there'll be a price war. The only difference I can see between orange & O2 prices is that orange offer a 24 month contract with unlimited everything (calls/data/texts) if your willing (or crazy/rich enough) to pay £122.34 per month for 24 months (£2936.16 all together!!!!!).

The networks have near enough no say on the contract prices. This is why they are pretty much the same on orange and o2.

Think I'd choose the n900 over an android phone.

Why? What don't you like about the n900?

Not the iPhone.

I get no end of problems with missed calls and signal drops on mine (already had it swapped out.) That said, it might just be O2's 3G.

i would love to have hd2 but woth worries me is battery life as it has only 1200mah and my ex Xperia X1 had a 1500 mah battery but that was whole piece of crap.
