html: opaque table question

I'm trying to create a table so that the background colour is opaque, enabling the body background to be seen through the table.

I've manage to make the table opaque, but it makes my text opaque too :(

Heres what i've got atm... if you want my "full" html to work with ( not alot more than this. then let me know.

STYLE="opacity:0.60; -moz-opacity:0.60; filter:alpha(opacity=60); background-color:black; border:
2 ridge #800000">
