Ea sports "You're Not In The Game"

Code on back of manual, each game may have it's own. Think this might be to try stop people with piracy games?

kinda of agree but if I can't sell it on because its renders the games useless to anyone but me and the £10 charge is gonna come in, on top of a £40 game then bye bye EA for me

I do too, i get mine on pre order etc. Just more of a pain to play online and maybe selling the game on after with the code, might not work.

No EA for me now, if you use the code, it wont work again by looks of it

If I have a used game, how will I know if the access code that came with the game still works?
Your Online Pass code comes with the original retail purchase of the game. If the original consumer of the game did not use the Online Pass code, the second-hand consumer may use that code.

Say, for example, you have two kids who use the same Xbox and the same disc, but have two different gamertags. This now means that you'll have to pay EA $10 to allow the second gamertag to have online privileges.
#7
read through the information its bloody ridiculous

the big names are catching on to the fact that people love playing online yet its not a right, so they can twist your arm to agree to anything really :?

for example sony and the 'other os' fiasco

imo this is not fair to consumers, yet they will get away with it because
'oh you dont have to play online'.....

Really hope PES is good next year/this year. Won't be buying any more EA games. Purely out of principle.
#9
I'm sure blockbuster and lovefilm are gonna love this idea too

Do I need to purchase an Online Pass when I rent a game?
Each Xbox LIVE gamertag or Sony PSN ID is entitled to a free 7 day trial per title. Beyond that, users will be required to redeem or purchase Online Pass access.

I thought that too but they have made a provision for that.

Thats very good of them, never read the full article.
Still out of principle won't buy any EA product.
I'm still bouycotting the MW2 maps because if the ridicoulous price IW/Activision (not sure who would set the price) have put on them.

That might be hard to stick to for too many people, co's EA distribute / publish that many cross platform titles. It is this very reason they have Sony and more so M$ by the balls.

Not really, quite happy with my football manager on my PC. So long as I have that.
Was looking forward to the new MOH on the 360 too.
I just find it crazy that an xbox user buying a pre-owned game could be forced to pay 2 charges to play online.

How they can jusitfy charging that, haven't been on MW2 since the new maps came out.

I totally don't agree with it, but it may be good for the 2nd hand games market.
#21
There will be no 2nd hand market now. That's their plan surely to cripple it ?

Boils down to money/ greed.

Don't really affect me that much at minute co's I always buy new.
#22
Saying that though it might also be a good thing now Co's game/gameplay/gamestation/the hut/zavvi/blockbuster online/ lovefilm cannot palm you off with unsealed copies of supposedly new games

I mostly buy new occasional 2nd hand game. Surely CEX and the like aren't gonna like this pre-owned game prices should plummet. But then will the price you recieve for them

Its a ***** trick that theyre all going to do, its been a slippery slope since the EA 'ten dollar' bull where they put bits of your game as a download to destroy its second hand value.

Imagine a film where they cut ten minutes out if you sold it on, or a book where a few pages disappeared. Its a joke. We already pay for Xbox live why should we pay again to play online because we dared to buy a game used.

Of course, in the end itll destroy EA etc because the servers of sports games will be empty within 3 months of release, making the games worthless and eventually corroding public perception of their sports titles and their values, the second hand value will also drop to almost nothing meaning more people will pay a tenner for a nearly new sports title and just play it offline.

EA always have and always will be scum.
