HELP!
I think i've been ripped off.
I recently found a website called http://www.ipodsnanosales.com/ and initially I thought it was a good site, so I went ahead and bought a product, got a confirmation order about the product from them in an email.
But the email i got was in chinese and was sent from [email protected]. I sent an email back asking for a refund.

Also, I could not find anywhere on the website about any contact details or anywhere where I can close the account.

Does anyone have any advice?

It's a recently created website based in China - I would consider contacting the bank / credit card provider if you made payment that way for further advice possibly ?

Yeah - firstly, give yourself a big slap. By not following basic rules, you've gone and gotten yourself scammed, putting a large (or, hey, potentially enormous) wad of cash into the hands of an internet fraudster. Most people smell a rat and buy elsewhere, but you've just given him the encouragement to keep going.

Secondly, learn these three rules:

1) If it's too good to be true, it probably is.

2) No verifiable contact details, no sale. That site there doesn't even offer online chat, nevermind a street address (as is mandatory for sites to list within the UK under the distance selling act).

3) Google before placing an order.

Optimistically right now, you might've just been scammed for £79. Depending on how they handle their credit card info, you might be in line to be scammed for far more, since you may have just given them full access to your bank account. Depending on their game, you may also have just given them all the tools they need to steal your identity, too. You should probably have a word with your bank in the morning.

In future, try and be a bit more careful.

On a credit card? Contact bank and get a refund!

I almost fell for the scam two days ago. However, quickly realised and reported it to yahoo as a phishing website. At least now it doesn't come up in the google search.

Is it just me or has there been a mass immigration of really stupid people to this site.

And I'm sorry if you think that's strong Mods but come on now! This site has an apple symbol in its top left hand corner (illegal to use if your not an apple reseller), no contact page and the prices are stupidly cheap!

STOP BEING SO CHEAP PEOPLE!!!!!

It might be a good idea if you could reassure anyone by taking a snapshot of the actual item received and an invoice (blanking out personal details of course).

Good luck with your genuine fake ?

Hi there, i had the same problem as you. I bought an ipod from http://www.ipodsnanosales.com, and after 2 long weeks i finally received the item. When i open the box i saw that wasn't genuine, tried to connect within itunes and nothing happened. I have sent hundred e-mails to [email protected] ( the company who took the payment from my account), and also for the ''web site owner'' [email protected]. I did get some replays from [email protected], but not much helpful, but never got any replay from [email protected], i don't think will get any refund for that unfortunately. I did call my bank to see what they cold do about it, waist of time, because they said that was nothing they could do. Just remained with the lesson to never ever buy nothing that is so good to be true anymore.

The Christmas scammers strike again and the fools with more money than sense fall for it.

Look forward to seeing you all next year!

How could you be so naive? The website hasn't even got a telephone number or even a 'contact us' - nor a physical business address.

Makes me wonder how these people even manage to turn a computer on

It's surprising how many people fall for scams, some people my sister know, they are regular online shoppers etc and the husband applied for a CC via a link in an email he received, needless to say they took his bank details that he had duly supplied and took money from his bank account.

It's unbelievable how many people just do not think.
#28
They got me but item turned up only when i checked serial number it showed the box is a 2nd gen nano and ipod aint even a nano its a cheap mp3 player in an ipod nano shell
#29
another clue is that there is no secure server when adding personal details

it's more sophisticated than your average scammer site though, i must admit it nearly had me there happily i sussed them out before completing an order.

is it me or is there a badly cropped apple logo top left?

Oh lawd. oO

Looking at that site you would have been safer buying from Ebay and that's saying something.

1st priority is to cancel your card before its gets maxed out to the limit!

Hi all, thanks for all the feedback. I received my 'ipod nano' today in the post. It looks very much real but when I connected to my computer it did not register with itunes. It had everything on the 5th gen ipod that includes, video camera, FM radio and everthing else but i'm still not convinced at all.
I also received an invoice from the sender if this may help anyone...
On the invoice it says it's from a company called DONG FENG ZHEN from an address MAOYI HANG ZHONG, SHAN CITY of a postcode 517000. However, I'm not sure whether this is the company that sent the product.

I understand that any product that does not recognise itunes is not an apple certified product. I need to get rid of this.

DO NOT BUY FROM http://www.ipodsnanosales.com
