You need to install the software on your pc, connect the TomTom, and it will lokk for updates (if you are connected to the internet).

TomTom on a Navigo sounds like a dodgy proposition to me. Would it be safe to say this is a "free" version of TomTom that you've acquired?

why is it dodgy? it works as good as a tomtom unit.

Dodgy as in illegal. For instance I find it hard to believe someone would spend £60 on a Navigo, then spend £80 on a legal copy of TomTom, when I TomTom One can be had for under £100.

OK then. Since I'm clearly in need of education, please explain to me, step by step how you get TomTom legally running on a Navigo device. I'm especially interested in the source of the TomTom installation files.

If you can do that, then this "person" will keep quiet.

I await your reply with some anticipation.

where does it say its illegal  wheres your source?

its not legal, its an illegal copied version of the windows mobile tomtom that you can download for free from cirtain sites or torrents, whack it on there and it works just as good as a tomtom.

Completely illegal but i'd do it :-)

Had the windows mobile tomtom on my WM phones for the past few years,

The latest version of WM tomtom is 6.032

Latest maps are 1409

Still not quite as upto date as a real tomtom unit but its almost perfect and is much better than the navigo software that comes on those units.

Just for the record i dont care if its legal or illegal

I hacked my PSP which can let me play downloaded games and its saved me 100s of pounds.

so what? its hardly a hanging offence is it.

1. Navigo is not on the list of TomTom supported devices
2. For it to be legal you'd have to buy the software.
3. Since the combined cost of a Navigo and a legal copy of TomTom is significantly more than a genuine TomTom device only a complete idiot would do so.
4. Since you're clearly not a complete idiot you've sourced TomTom from elsewhere. Most likely the famous BitTorrent shop.
5. If you had done it legally, you'd have had no problems explaining how.
6. I don't actually care what you do. What makes me laugh is people posting illegal activities on public forums. I guess it's down to the pervading attitude that software theft isn't like real theft. But I don't suppose you'd be asking for tips on the best way to burgle someone on here, so it makes me laugh.

Seriously though. If you've done it legally for less than the price of a TomTom One please describe how. I'll buy one for the missus.

I have removed links to a site reportedly offering TOMTOM software and keygens, any further direct links to such will result in infractions.
