HUKD BREAKING NEWS - jury been out now for 3 days in little Rhys trial

thought i would put it here as all the news stations are showing is about the Menezes shooting

the trial regards an innocent little lad shot dead coming home from football is only local news

The jury in the trial of a teenager accused of murdering Rhys Jones has been sent home for the weekend after a third day considering the verdict.

how much has the menezes fiasco cost - he was an illegal immigrant acting suspicious at a time when security was high -

little rhys was a total innocent

police have apologised so much to menezes family (who btw are over here courtesy of tax payer - and trying to screw millions out of system)

if little rhys trial falls through it will be another kick in teeth for justice

They have Evidence of the gun and also did not one of the guy admit.

i really dont think you have thought about the comments you are posting, ignorance the cases are completely unrelated and there is no comparison.

yeah he was brazilian but did he deserve to be shot?

would his family have the finances to fly and stay in england coming from a poor country like brazil?

did they ask for this to happen?

ignorant

What is the breaking news? That the jury is still out? Hardly 'breaking' news, the major stations aren't dedicating a lot of time to it because there is nothing to say; the trial has been covered, how much can they really say about the jury still being undecided?

How you manage to then suggest Menezes is to blame and isn't worthy of coverage ("he was an illegal immigrant acting suspicious","little rhys was a total innocent","police have apologised so much to menezes family (who btw are over here courtesy of tax payer - and trying to screw millions out of system)" is pretty appalling right-wing nonsense to me...

this case is undermining our system - it was just after 7th july bombings and security was high - protecting people - ok police got it wrong - but it would not have happened if the guy abided by the law and went home when his visa was up -

these enquiries costing millions of taxpayers money and putting an already stifled system under more pressure - and its us - innocent people who are paying for it - whether it be by crimes against us - lack of funds in nhs - schools

and im just sick of it so i thought i would have my say - freedom of speech and all that:roll:

Thats interesting, you know at first it would look like you were trying to say something about Rhys, but your not.

What if Menezes was born in the UK? Would it still be his fault for getting shot because he was 'acting suspicious'? Would you still be complaining about the enquiry and the 'millions of tax-payers money that would put into the nhs and schools' (and are you aware how stupid that statement is?)

What exactly is it that you are 'sick of'?
#17
My family came over from another country, and pay taxes, yet one case affects the budgets for schools so much.

so basically your saying because he isnt a british citizen he doesnt deserve an apology after being shot by the POLICE. the people who are supposed to protect?
are the police ment to say sorry to rhys? they didnt shoot him....
#19
i was trying to highlight rhys' trial - not to carry on what press are doing

just hope jurors in trial get it right

btw - you do need a visa to work in u.s:thumbsup:
#20
omg i find this totally offensive and im Brit !

So u outstay ur visa and its ok to be shot dead??!!
What about the thousands of people working illeagaly on the side whilst at the same time claiming benefits - they cost us tax payers millions aswell - should they be shot?

What about drug dealers or shoplifters, people commiting crimes.... - shoot them too?

Imagine it was a Brit in another country who had outstayed their visa period - i dont think we'd find it acceptable for them to be shot for looking suspicious!

This is a crazy statement to make, i cant beleive anyone could write such a racist controversal comment !!

Is the OP aware that working immigrants contribute loads to the tax pot and can't/don't access public funds apart from schools and NHS?

No you weren't. You were using the Rhys case to make underhand, verging-on-racist remarks about Menezes, doing things such as suggesting he was partly to blame 'for being here'. The cases are totally 100% unrelated, one is a criminal trial about the murder of a child which is ongoing, one is a public inquest into the police shooting of an innocent unarmed man.

neither deserved to die, end of. Why you think one deserves more press coverage than the other is beyond me, yes i understand you saying one is getting less but your posts arent saying just this are they

I would hazard a guess that the OP reads the Daily Mail.

He was in the country legally when he was killed.
He was not acting suspicious, unless going to work via the tube is deemed acting suspicious :whistling:
The were both totally innocent.

lol at the tags to the OP!

My final post but the OP really should have a good read up on the Menezes verdict:

THE JURY'S KEY ANSWERS
Did officers shout armed police? NO
Did Mr de Menezes move towards officers? NO
Did difficulty in identifying the man under surveillance lead to his death? NO
Did the behaviour of Mr de Menezes increasing suspicion among officers lead to his death? NO

The inquest jury was given the choice of two possible verdicts, but chose to reject the option that Mr Menezes was killed lawfully by the police.

The 10 jury members were asked 12 specific questions about whether or not a series of events on 22 July 2005 contributed to the 27-year-old's death.
After a week of deliberations, a majority of eight to two returned an open verdict and said they did not believe officers had shouted "armed police" before opening fire.

They said they believed Mr de Menezes had stood up from his seat before being shot. However they did not believe he had moved towards the first officer to open fire. They also rejected that Mr de Menezes' innocent behaviour had increased suspicions.
Following the verdict, the Acting Met Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson said Mr de Menezes' death had been a "most terrible mistake", which he "deeply regretted".
"He was an innocent man and we must accept full responsibility for his death," he said. He said the force now had to "learn from events to minimise the chances of this ever happening again".
The point of the inquiries and the 'millions-of-pounds of tax payers money' is to find out what went wrong and take necessary measures to prevent it happening again. The case isn't about 'unmining our system', its about finding out why a failing system went wrong and it is necessary to do that to learn how to move forward.

good post

and i have to say that im completely outraged that the police have got away with this even after a mass conspiracy between them to try and falsify the information

complete joke our legal system judge making the decision that the jury can NOT deliver an unlawful killing verdict

i hope a civil case is more prosperous fro the menezes family
RIP

He was not an illegal immigrant.

He had applied to extend his stay and, by law, one is allowed to stay in the UK while the Home Office considers their decision.

He was no more illegally in the UK than you are. Therefore, by your loose definition of an illegal immigrant, you are also one.

And don't start about him acting suspiciously, because it was shown in the 2007 trial that he never acted in such a manner. Or maybe you know something the court didn't? I doubt it.

Just for the record...it's De Menezes....saying menezes is like shortening McBride to Bride.... :)
Sorry but I really had to get that off my chest......

I hope Justice is done and little Rhys can rest in peace.
