The countless free £100 this and that if you comment in my thread is ****ing me off. We need the ignore add on which is available to V-bulletin forums which I believe HUKD is, just modified greatly. And those annoying, running da misk threads, would have me click ignore straight away. Link below

You can choose to ignore members already?

EDIT: Oh, to ignore threads rather than people. Yeah, I suppose it would be good but I wouldn't hold my breath!
#3
i'd have the spam word games on ignore and thats pretty much it although the what I'm having for dinner and other such threads would probably be put in there every so often.
#4
sounds good, then i could ignore this thread

No, its people playing a game....don't like it? Then don't take part. It's as simple as that really isn't it?!

I am not taking part so I should have a choice. The choice of whether I want to have to scroll down through the countless number of threads of people begging/petitioning/lobbying for comments.

I am not against competitions. Usually when a competition is introduced it is kept in one thread.

That is the crux of the problem with this new competition. Not, as you suggest, the actual competition. So no, it isnt really as simple as that.

a game ? Your just paying to promote their website by offering gifts. VB1 is obviouslly going to win. i've seen his twitter, he's asking random strangers to join, and has his avi linking to it, huge cross promo, but mods get fo.lk promoted, seems as long as it benefits them they can break the rules

if you win you win, great, but a competition based on spamming forums is a joke, and the worst bit people are giving stuff away to promote it. Tad desperate for an ipad. Did anybody tell you its ****?

If you actually done your research and looked into this Fo.lk situ, you will actually be fully aware that i believe it should never have been brought onto the Misc HUKD boards, and i stand by this statement. You will also understand that i want to participate and wanted to keep it to Facebook, twitter, ebay i.e external sites, but unfortunatley one member was cleared to do the misc threads on here, so anybody who wanted to stand a chance HAD to join the club. Its as simple as that, so like i said instead of everybody hating the players, start taking the blame from them and understand they are merely trying to win a competition, unfortunatly no longer in ideal situations.

Who cares? It started off fun. If i didn't want and couldn't afford to give £50 away then i wouldn't of suggested it. As for being desperate, i'd happily spend £50 on a fun night out, so to enter (what i thought would be fun) a competition for that sum is nothing to me. I could comfortably afford a ipad if i so desired, but like i said it was more the participating that appealed to me.

Didn't seem very fun to me, promoting a website, but I get what your saying. Started off normal comp and then some idiots promote fo.lk ing everywhere they can type, and it ruins it. To be honest if I thought I could win an ipad, I would to.

As I have already said, and I will repeat, I want to make the site aware that we should be given the choice of ignoring particular threads.

This then allow us to ignore the threads already mentioned here, game threads and others of a similar nature.

I do not need to do my research. It is very clear what the problem is and it has nothing to do with what clearance was given to a member.

Pointed this out last June here.

Lets face it... some want the work games to become invisible. I dont use them, but they dont annoy me either. Would be great to ignore those with the stupid threads like what do you have for breakfast and do you have black bits in your sugar bowl.

It's not mandatory to read all the threads on the forum!! Just skip past all in misc ending with an Orange bar ffs!!!!

Did you actually look at the current results?

I'm 3rd, nowhere near winning. My twitter has about 40 followers only, and no one has signed up from reading my twitter comment.

I am .... meow-less.... Kind of odd how little things can really get to people. This appears to be rather emotive and annoying to a few doesn't it...

Seems to me that there must be other things that are slightly more important to worry about?

I would love an ignore thread button, it would really clean this site up and make it much more personalised.

You could ignore a whole raft of threads if you so desire. HUKD needs to keep improving otherwise one day a new kid on the block which gives you much more scope will take over.

Some people want an ignore and some people don't, give people the option I say.

IMO HUKD would improve greatly for me if I could set a lot of the repetetive posts to ignore, yes I can skip past them but why should I have to keep skipping past say 10 word games everytime I open this site up when I could put them on ignore for good?

Major sites like facebook etc don't stand still like this site does, they are ever improving.

I am of the ever growing opinion that this site only makes changes to parts that benefit the owners not the users.

Agree 100% with this. There are so many pointless threads like "How to make a toast" or "It's 11:38PM, who wants to chat LOL LOL!" or "Count to 8,000,000,000 using only pictures of mice"

and of course all the mod-sanctioned spam we have seen recently like "Win my old scarf, just post in mny FO.LK thread"
banned#36
If an ignore thread function was implemented, I wonder whether I'd have anyone left to talk to on here after the competition :(

BTW, I'm still the only person to have given a prize away and the winner to have received said prize :) (And it wasn't a scarf) - Jus sayin!

We all have a certain type of post that we would rather not have to trawl past day in day out, we should have the choice to ignore them.

It can't do any harm to have it so why not.

This is very true I think also.

When I worked in IT, we used to make changes to applications depending on what the users wanted, not what IT thought they should have.
Take the search function on here. It is still very hit and miss despite it having been worked on. But I don't think having a perfect search would necessarily bring more money in.
I consider myself fairly good at debugging programs but this search on here has me beat.
Perhaps it's true what is on the developer's avvy, something about doing nothing all day and getting paid for it. :whistling:
