Don't know about tesco and mousetraps but i reckon there will be more than one of the little fellas. How about finding out where they are getting in and blocking their way? Do you have wooden floor or carpet?

Was going to suggest sprinkling talc down to see where the paw prints lead, but not very practical on a carpet. You poor thing, When i got my first cottage flat, we ended up with mice, they were coming in from the downstairs flat and making their way into mine between the breeze blocks and nesting in the roof space. We had to be cruel and get an exterminator out, i was a new mum and my baby came first.

A tray, a pyrex dish or oven tin and an L shaped piece of wood or wire.

Put the tray on the floor melt some chocolate or put some Peanut Butter one end of the stick. Balance one end of the dish on the angle of the stick and the other on the tray.

Mouse nibbles chocolate, stick falls, mouse is trapped.

For best results put the device near a wall. When trapped take the mouse miles away or it will find it's way back.

Worked for me several times.

EDIT:
Found the link

bettaware sell some, bout a fiver
best loaded with peanut butter but you have to be around to get the mouse out fairly quick when you hear it rattle, leave it set over night an the mousie will have chewed his way out ;)

we got a humane one from b+q, loaded it with peanut butter and caught 2 mice (on different nights) they where in the garage. So, the peanut butter works apparently they love it !

Hope this helps

How do you propose to get rid of mice? What I mean is where are you going to put them/let them go?

Chuck them next door :-D

Nah im going to look for where they are getting in and get it sorted and then let the thing go down the park

The reason I'm asking is because mice can find their way back if you don't take them far enough away.

My own view is that they are vermin that contaminate everywhere they go by leaving a trail of urine wherever they travel.

We get mice coming into the house every year when the weather changes - now in fact.

Although I love animals I feel that they should be dispatched by the quickest means so I always set traditional traps.

Would like to hear if anyone has used the sonic repellents successfully though.

good luck with that, they can squeeze through a pencil sized hole.
