Phone cancellations and make up some story that some other phone company is giving you a certain deal for x amount... worked for me I got the samsung tocco ultra for £20 per month 600 mins, unlimited text, unlimited wap

thanks all,. will phone them now with his confidence

Yep, phone right through to cancellations. Follow the options but dont select you want to upgrade, select the "you are thinking of leaving us" option. Picked up 100 mins unlimited text + internet for £19.58 with orange through retentions.

Say you have your eye on the HTC G1 as it is exclusive to T-Mobile.
What you need to do is haggle over money you want to pay. as minutes, texts and data are meaningless they could add as much as they want pretty much, it costs them next to nothing.

It doesn't matter if they give you the PAC, you can still stay with them if you don't use it.

When my contract with Vodafone was expiring, I requested my PAC and they offered a couple of crappy deals which I didnt like and insisted they send the PAC. A couple of days later they rang and offered me 600minutes, and unlimited texts for £12.50. I said I needed a data tariff and ended the call. A few days after that they rang back and offered 600 minutes, unlimited text and unlimited data for £15/month.

It doesn't hurt to ask them what you want. Don't worry if you don't get what you want the first time, either wait for them to call back or ring them back after a day or two. They hate losing customers, but they never offer the good deals straight away.

A friend was on 3 and he told them that he wanted to cancel because he could only offer to pay £10/month max because of the recession and losing his job. They offered him the same tariff he was on (£20), new phone all for free. They simply credited his account with £240.

The main thing to do is request to cancel, not upgrade, that's where the best deals lie.

Wait ive just re read your post.

What about going onto O2 Simplicity? thats £19 something a month with a free unlimited data bundle, which im pretty sure is usable by blackberry for the features.

+ its only 30 day contracts so if something better comes along you can cancel right away.

just another bit of advice, go onto moneysavingexpert forum and go to the mobile phone section and see what deals people are getting on there, obviously it depends what you are using and spending each month but it will give you some kind of idea as to what you can ask for.

200 text and mins for £30! E2save CB

that seems very expensive. You need to get that cost down.
Do your homework , even phone some other providers to see what they can offer so you can use that as bait when you phone o2 for real!

i am waiting for my bill, and then send my last redemption voucher off, once it has been delivered then i will be on the phone, earliest tuesday!

when you upgrade, when do you go onto your tariff? is it on the same day or when your bill cycle is?

eg, if i phoned up tomorrow, will it turn to the new contract on sat? or on the 27/5 when my bill and minutes are issued
