People say i am X amount English, X amount Welsh etc.

My mother is Welsh, My father is West Indian and I was born in England.
Does that make me 1/3 of each?

What are you guys? Any interesting mixes?

No, if an American couple came over to England on holiday, and had a baby, the baby would be American, not English/British.

Your nationality is not dependant on your place of birth.

Born in a country, when parents have a settled status in that country at the time of birth makes you a national of that country with a different heritage.
#10

You are a healthy mixture of genes from a large gene pool, which means you are more likely to have healthy and long life.
+ you also have direct access to three different cultures and all the variety they offer. Overall a good deal.
Well done mum and dad.

Your nationality actually depends upon where you are registered when you are born. You are no nationality unless you are registered as a child. If your parents are granted asylum or british citizenship.. then you are British.

But I probably have all sorts in me. Surname Roberts is welsh.. I live in england..Always have done... Dads side always has done.. Mums side always has done..

This wasnt a question of nationality, more of a question of what do you answer when you get asked such a question.

I'm not confused over my nationality, I'm dual national British and St. Vincentian. :P

I believe we live in an increasingly multicultural world where identy and nationality are becoming increasingly blurry.

Agreed - can't understand why people get so clingy to their nationality.
#32
what do your passports say?
as your nationality if you had a Vincentian passport then yes half british half Vincentian
[mod]#33
If you want to go off Ancestory and back then we are all African :-D

^^^ This

Nationality is citizenship, if you are a citizen of a country then you are also a national. I was born in the US to 2 british parents therefore i am a US and British citizen so have dual nationality.

You're all of course talking ******** because genetic*fingerprinting actually indexes 21 countries. My mum's family lists tunisia as number 1, japan number 21. It costs about £149 to have it done if you're interested.
